Hello Moms,

I know nothing about digital scrapbooking and would like to learn. I am wondering what sites are best. My dad's wife loves Creative Memories, but I know nothing about them. I welcome all input.

Thank You :-)

Creative Memories has a software program called Storybook. There are tutorials on the Creative Memories website for the software. I use that and Adobe Photoshop Elements. Storybook is very user friendly and you can use any of the digital papers and elements with it, you are not tied to just buying Creative Memories products. It is also much less expensive than Adobe Photoshop Elements but also doesn't have as much of the editing you would do to the photos themselves. If you google "digital scrapbooking" you will find a lot of websites dedicated to this, some with great tutorials. Some have free things. One such site is Scrapgirls. Once you've made your pages, You can either put your pages in albums or load them to picture books that you see in Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc... If you print out the pages for albums there are several places to do that. I use Costco and scrappingsimply.com. Another great thing is I've printed off 8x8 pages and framed them for gifts. You can make slightly different versions of pages for different people and albums. There is just so much.....If you'd like to send me a message and email further I can send you a few examples of what I've done.

I love creative memories. I just finished a book for my daughter. It was so easy and well worth the price. The books pages are sewn together instead of glued so they last practically forever! Its such a cool way to scrapbook. There are a bunch of backgrounds and digital stickers you can buy for it too, you never run out of pages and they are super cute. I plan on doing "the Night Before Christmas" book, but my daughter will be in it.

Jessicasprague.com has classes to teach about digital Scrapbooking for a reasonable price. She is offer a free class to start soon to see how her site works and give back to the community supports her. As for supplies there are a number if sites in addition to Jessica's such as designer digitals and two peas in a bucket. Good luck and ENJOY!

ETA: I just came across a coupon on my desk for "up and running with photoshop" beginner digital scrapbooking class on Jessica's site. the code is JSURCHA10. This coupon is for 20% off. HTH

I just went to a "Heritage Makers" party and got a subscription to a really neat digital scrapbooking site. I'm enjoying it and the woman who ran the party -- I'd never met her before that night -- has been professional, warm, friendly and extremely helpful ever since. You can check her stuff out at www.jpegstellnotales.com

Depends on what your comfort level is, personally I didnt like creative memories or any of the sites that have everything already there for you to put together.
I love digital scrapbooking but I use Photoshop Elements and I purchase and download each "package" that I like from many many dealers on the internet. Then i can mix and match and dont feel the limitations that I did on the sites that only would let you use what they had.

I personally love www.scrapgirls.com and shabbyprincess.com
here are some of the layouts that I have made http://www.jillslayouts.blogspot.com/

I'm not sure if Picaboo is officially a scrapbooking tool, but it has many scrapbooking features, and it is very user friendly.
