I have a 9 month old that is loves her schedule, down at 6 PM, up at 6 AM with 2 naps of about 1 hour to 1.5 hours each day. My questions is, how to handle the time change? I would love to know what others have done who have kids on a consistent schedule.

What can I do next?

You'll be surprised, I was all worried about the time change with my little ones too, but they adjusted as if nothing had changed. When I first experienced a time change, it was when we moved to Colorado and it was 2hours different. The very first night, I put them down one hour earlier, they got up just a little earlier than normal the next morning, but that was okay because that very next night, it helped them become tired enough to be laid down two hours earlier than they did in Indiana. It's absolutely not a big deal. If you have trouble the first night, chances are she'll be good to go the next night.

Can gradually change by 15 minute increments or if you have off days sometimes (like she's up past 6pm for special occasions), treat it like an off day and go for the change cold turkey.

My twins were 5 months old at the last Fall change and 9 months old at the Spring. I am more concerned about the Fall change this time around. We did the Spring change cold turkey and they adjusted in 1 day. What's weird.. and I don't know if it because they were sick but they have been wanting to go down a little bit earlier the last few days. So it might be hard to keep them up longer. As for this coming Sunday, I plan on doing it cold turkey. We follow a pretty rigid schedule. I plan on setting my alarm on Sunday morning and making sure we get up at their normal 6:45/7am time. I am hoping they sleep later but we'll see. We will try to shoot for our naps at the same time but if all doesn't go well... do the best we can and then putting them down at their 7pm time. They'll probably be really cranky from staying up the extra hour or at least 45 minutes but I am hoping by Tuesday the latest they have adjusted. I think it will help with it being so dark out.
