Hello Mamas
Well I thought I got a good head start on 3 loads of laundry this am. It appears a YELLOW crayon was missed in one of the pockets. So, it went through the washer and the dryer, now I have yellow all over one entire load of laundry. This is a washable crayon, that is all I allow in our house. So any ideas how to get this out? Do you think the heat of the dryer set the wax in, and even though it was washable it wont come out? It is everywhere so I really need something I can dump in the washer with the entire load, it is too much to spot treat............ Please help me!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well this is what I did .......... I split the load in half, I put it in the washer with my ALL detergent, and cold water, I let it soak for 1 hour, then ran it through the wash twice........ what-da-ya-know it all came out!!!! So then I repeated it on the other half a load, I didnt want to over load the machine so all the pieces could soak well........ I think that since this was a WASHABLE crayon is why it came out!!! I will stick to my rule in the future, only washable crayons in this house.... and perhaps I shall check the pockets a little better!!! Thanks ladies

I found this on a site: "Washing the load over again in Tide's new coldwater formula got almost all of the crayon out."
There are others that used WD-40 and others that used Oxy-clean.

I have a horrible feeling you may be sca-REWED. THe only thing I can think to do is let it set in cold water and then do several wash cycles :(

We recently had the same thing happen with a red crayon! I sprayed whatever had crayon on it with WD-40, then rubbed with Dawn dish liquid and washed in the hottest water the garments could handle with Tide. It was a little time consuming but every speck of crayon came out! The WD-40 also worked on the inside of the dryer, which was streaked red.

I had a similar experience myself & it was no fun! It was all of the new Christmas clothes!! I would recommend a product called Sol-U-Mel! It's an amazing chemical-free cleaner that I use for so much! I know it will remove marker & crayon from carpeting & walls, so I believe it will work just as well on clothes!
