Okay this is going to seem like an odd question, but I would like to clip coupons to help save a little money and I always hear such great stories of people saving hundreds. I thought the Sunday paper contained coupons, so I got one last Sunday and there were none. Am I missing something here? Where do you find coupons and also do grocery stores ever do double coupon days anymore. Any money saving savvy people out there please help!

What can I do next?

I dont know if there was a particular reason or not, but there were no coupons in last Sundays paper. That is where I get mine too. I also go to couponmom.com and print them out. There are also lots of other sites you can get them from. Google coupons and see what you come up with. I would also check with friends or neighbors and see if you can trade with each other for the coupons that you need or arent using.

In the OC Register, coupons are generally located with the ads. The are grouped together. They are generally in each Sunday's paper.

Check out www.survivingthestores.com They send a daily email with freebies and coupons but best of all are the CVS deals. She'll take the CVS ad and the sunday coupons and show you "Money making" opportunites where CVS owes you a penny to take the stuff out of the store. I've never shopped at CVS but I did and got brand name shaving cream for $1.00 and pads for $1.00 and Secret deoderant (large size) for $.49. I too, just started on this quest but I've saved A LOT. Get clipping! And I'm not buying stuff just because it's on sale, it's stuff I use.

Hi J.,
I thought I had lost my mind last weekend but you are right there were no coupons last Sunday. I signed up for grocerygame.com and it really helps you get the best deals with your coupons. I think you can do a free trial and you can pick which store you like to shop at. Good Luck.

They don't usually put coupons in the Sunday papers on a holiday weekend (President's Day). There are also websites for coupons, but I've never gone there -- search online. If you shop at the same store each week, make sure you have a rewards/club card -- they track your purchases and send you coupons for items you buy regularly. Get a box or file for the coupons and organize them by category (cereal, deli, frozen, etc.), make your list and get your coupons ahead of time. Bring the box with you in case you forget something, or there's something on sale you want to stock up on and have a coupon for it. Have fun!

Hi J.!
I JUST started on the same mission! I happend to watch Oprah when she had the whole show about saving money and one of the guests was the lady who started couponmom.com. I registered there and have learned so much already. She has a free ebook you can print out or read with great information. Be prepared that clipping coupons and saving money takes time, there is no quick fix to saving money at the grocery store. My first trip to the store after reading her book and going through the "junk mail" I saved 50% at checkout!!! I was sooo excited! It takes looking through your mail and seeing what the week deals your local stores are running and I would write them down... and Sunday paper has a bunch of manufactures coupons but I haven't had much luck there yet. I went to two stores and then Costco for a selection of items. I got everything I needed and saved oodles! Its really a mindset, once you shift your way of thinking your shopping will too. I am sure there are many other websites out there this ones stradegy really works for me. I won't pay full price for most things now that I know I don't have to!
Good luck with saving your money :)
