Regular chiropractic adjustments to the low back also helps increase bowel movements through increasing the nerve impulses to the GI system. I am a chiro that specializes in children in Villa Park. If you want more info let me know. If you need a closer chiro I can help you find one.

My daughter was the same way. We reduced her milk just to see if it helped (just a bit) and went through a huge amount of over the counter stuff. The fiber drinks and cookies helped a bit. She loved Fig Newtons so maybe those will help you also. We also gave Juicy Juice since it is 100%, but not too often since it has lots of natural sugar. It took a while to get her regular but she is fine now.

Hi L.,

my 4 year old sometimes has the same issues and what we've found to work the best is to make sure she drinks a lot of water and a bit less milk. We still make sure she has the milk consumption she needs but we gave her a water bottle (princess) to help her drink more water. We also started using Fletcher's children's laxative which tastes like Rootbeer and is very safe. Our pediatrician recommended it to us and the great thing about it is it tastes great and within an hour causes a bowel movement. We probably use it once a week just to make sure she stays regular but with the water consumption it really has helped.

Hope you find that useful.
