Cold Cheese Dip Recipe (Not Tex-Mex) This One Had Grated Cheese in It

YEARS ago I was at an event that was catered and they had the BEST cheese dip I have ever had, and I was wondering if any of you momma's might know the recipe.
It had grated cheddar cheese in it, but also a cream like mixture (similar to Ranch dressing maybe), it is a cold dip, you can see the pieces of shredded chesse.
I think it was "garlicey". All I know is I could not get enough of it and gained 5 pounds :)
I want to have something like it this Thanksgiving due to an over abundance of Ritz crackers in my house.
Thanks!

I hope you enjoy.
•4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (16 oz)
•1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
•1 clove garlic, cut in half
•1 cup lowfat plain yogurt
•1/4 cup dry white wine (wine is optional, you can use water.)
•Dash pepper
•1 loaf (1 lb) French bread, cut into 1-inch pieces

In a resealable food storage plastic bag, place shredded cheese and flour. Shake until cheese is coated with flour.

Rub cut sides of garlic in bottom and side of fondue pot or heavy saucepan; discard garlic. Add yoghurt to pot, and heat over medium heat until hot (do not boil).

Gradually add cheese mixture about 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly with whisk over low heat until melted. Add wine, stirring constantly. Add pepper as desired.

To serve, dip bread into cheese mixture with fondue forks. If fondue becomes too thick, stir in 1/4 cup heated wine.

Good luck to you and yours.

There is a shoepeg corn dip that has shredded cheese in it. Just google it if that sounds right.

Hot or cold?

Definitely google cheese dip recipes and see what suits your fancy. I prefer spinach and artichokes in mine.
