We're currently living in Boston & will soon be moving to St Louis Park. My son is 3 & currently in a preschool he loves here. Do you have recommendations for preschools on the west side of Mpls? Visiting them will be difficult, so I'm really relying on the opinions of other moms!

What can I do next?

Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie has an excellent preschool. They are starting up a new class in January and taking registrations for next fall already. You can find more info at www.wooddale.org.

St.Louis Park has a Montessori preschool my daughter attended in the basement of a Luthern Church it's not religous or affiliated with the church at all just rent the space. It's wonderful and priced reasonable. It's called Early Education Montessori across from Cub Foods of Hwy.7

I had a good friend that moved from here back to Mass.and said that MN daycare/preschool prices were just outrageous compared to what they were out East. So be prepared. We are spendy out this way.

Our son and several kids we know attend St. David's in Minnetonka. There can sometimes be a wait list but that can also depend upon what days or times you need for care. It is an exceptional program, highly regarded, and a super option to consider. They started as part of Saint David's Church but are independent now. You can find out about them at http://www.stdavids.net and if you wanted any more info, please let me know. We have a nanny for our childcare but St. David's is such a wonderful program that we have Alex going right now 2 half days a week just for the experience. We will increase that each year as he gets older. It is very close to St. Louis park.
Good luck.

Hi! I live in Saint Louis Park and have a 2.5 and 4.5 year old who attend the Sabes Jewish Community Center's Early Childhood Center in St. Louis Park. We aren't Jewish but are very happy with the curriculum, the facility, the teachers, and the other families we have met there! Regular preschool hours are 9-12:45 (every day or MWF + they are open at 7 and have an afternoon option for working parents) The kids have weekly swimming lessons, art class, and music class too. I'd be happy to give you more information if you are interested. We belong to a Catholic parish in Hopkins (just south of St. Louis Park) called St. John the Evangelist. They have a very nice preschool as well.
