What are you putting on your Christmas list?

I only give my list to hubby. We both exchange lists with each other and most of my gifts come from him.
He/we are fairly generous in gift giving to each other since we don't buy much throughout the year.

So what are you putting on your list?

And what is the most special/favorite gift you have received?

One more ?...does anyone have suggestions where to buy nice quality 14k gold, inexpensive earrings?
I can only where 14k in my ears and I have about 4 pairs I can where but I typically ask for 14k gold earrings since this is a more expensive item...so any stores or reputable online websites you would recommend for 14k gold earrings?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

The one thing I want most, I can't have. I want my best friend's 16-year-old daughter alive again. She died in January.

Of the things I CAN have:
Gift card from a guitar shop to get my instrument repaired. It needs a new tuning peg and the action lowered.
Gift card from my favorite local indie bookstore

not even writing out a list this year. my husband's gift from me is being worked on right now, and i know what he's getting me. my kindle died a couple of months ago (after less than 2 years....grrrrrr....) and he asked me whether i wanted a new one, or a tablet. i've always thought tablets were the worst of both worlds, too small to be a computer, too big to be a phone, too expensive to be a reader. but i have to say, after noodling around a little on the samsung galaxy i got him last year, it IS pretty cool, and after taking a poll of my FB friends, the kindle app for tablets sounds just as good as getting an actual kindle. so i told santa we'd hold off on an immediate kindle for a christmas tablet.
we both pretty much have everything we need, so big surprises (which i LOVED in the past) aren't required any more. what i want most of all is enough screening trees to make my entire (very small) farm completely private, and to travel a lot, and neither of those are feasible or fit under the tree.
the kindle was a big surprise (i'm a paper-book girl and didn't think i wanted an e-reader, but i did like it). probably the biggest and best wasn't strictly speaking a surprise, but my mare, whom we got a week before christmas 26 years ago. a stupid, extravagant, impulsive expense for a little family in our situation to incur, but she was and is my dream come true.

My list includes a compound bow, nice pepper grinder, fuzzy pajama pants, simple earrings, all of my watches to have new batteries (I haven't worn any of them in over 3 years but would like to), and a new tattoo. A nice random array to choose from.
How much we spend depends on what else is going on in our life at the moment. I love giving gifts especially if I can make them surprises. I don't particularly care about getting and feel very awkward when I'm given gifts, particularly expensive ones that aren't very practical.
No help on finding earrings...I don't usually buy any for myself.

My favorite present was The Life of Johnny Cash biography. This was from my mother last Christmas. I adore him, and it was very unexpected.

My husband and I don't give each other lists. We just mention what we might like throughout the year, and make note of it. It's a surprise every year, since my husband normally doesn't listen or pay attention! Haha.

I think the favorite one I got for my husband was a new wedding band. He had lost his while working on our plumbing. He took it off while working, and couldn't find it when he was done. It was very upsetting for him as at that time we had no money to replace it. I had saved money from my small pay checks to purchase a new one for him. My husband doesn't cry often, but he was very emotional when he opened it on Christmas Day.

You can get a good deal on the type of earrings you're talking about if you
watch the big department store ads. Compare the top 4 big stores & pick
the best deal.

Hubby gets me lots of fun, needed, cool things. He thinks outside the box
and remembers what I may have said I need.

This year I need cozy socks & another pair of good tennies.

My husband is out of work this year, has been since October 8th, so we made sure the kids got the things we planned for them before and aren't doing much for ourselves. Based on my last post about stockings, I think I will start to do those for he and I this year - small things is fine, but still fun stuff.

However, the kids always get us a gift per kid, so three gifts. My husband is getting a Dick's gift card, a new wallet, and a grill set. I asked for a new wallet, perfume, and an electric blanket for my office. We'll see what happens!

My list always has a book. Usually the newest nora roberts, socks and kitchen stuff. Last year we decided to give each other stuff we really needed no fluff stuff. He got me some perfume, socks and a book. I got him the expensive Razer blades he asked for, jeans and new shoes.

You can find nice earrings at kohls. And if you watch they have those sales where you get a scratch off for 10, 20 or 30% off

The list my husband gets from me is at his request, because he hates shopping.

The list: A vita mix from him, a piece of jewelry from sundance (kids choice, helped by him) Surprise in my stocking from him too.

He never asks for anything. I have no idea what to get him this year!

Hi! Hubby and I don't buy for each other; we buy for the household/what is needed. This year, we found a fantastic deal on Fiesta dinnerware (made in USA, no lead, no cadmium, [other metals free? Not sure, but those are the big ones that one has to worry about when buying from China) for almost HALF OFF. No way we were going to pass up that deal, esp since we've been wanting to replace our dinnerware for about 2-3 years now. We also needed a handheld vacuum. So we went to Menards and bought a Shark. And we are finally putting the rest of the house back together after having completely redone the upstairs; things like knick knacks and statues and odds 'n ends put away and photos hung on the wall. Except we discovered that almost all the frames we were given for our wedding were only tabletop frames. So Michael's had a 40% sale on all frames. So we figured out what we needed to finish our picture hanging collages on the walls and went and bought frames. Those 3 items were our Xmas/holiday gifts to each other/the household.

I am asking for a puffy jacket (like from REI). My husband is asking me for a little indoor/outdoor weather station. I have a million other things we need...but we just got hit with a huge car repair bill. No fun for that to happen at Christmastime!

Well, I'm getting a new phone. (I'll be doing this myself, b/c I'm the one in the house who does these sorts of things).

I would LOOVE a new pillow (I want the temperpedic cloud one, that costs about $130). I also would like to update my desktop computer at home, but that isn't in the cards at this time. Too much $$ and not a big enough budget for that, too. It'll have to wait.

I also normally get a book, and husband does, too. We both love reading. Michael Connelly has a new one out, and I would be surprised if husband doesn't get it for me, even if I don't put it on a list.

Other list items? Mehh.. I don't really have any this year. Come to think of it, I usually don't. The phone is my big one, and it won't be a surprise at all... it's just convenient timing to call it a Christmas present.
Husband usually has a pretty lengthy (and specific) list of items. Mostly books and music. I think he'd also like some new (heavy duty lug type) floor mats for his car. But what he has asked for is a new patio... or at a minimum, the plans for one with a start date...

I don't even know what I want to get the kids this year--and that's a first for me. :/
