Thanks to all for the great responses!! I decided to go with the special coin and poem idea and a Shiatsu body massager (since he works so hard) from QVC..I am so excited about him reading the poem. I also decided to get an ornament for our tree that is a mold for us to do her hand print!!! We will do that together on Christmas Eve..Another speial thing..Thanks again and Happy holidays to all!

IF you like the picture idea try www.shutterfly.com they make very good quality things. I just ordered a mug for my dad with a picture of us on the beach and even though i'm almost 23 he loved it! I'm thinking of getting one for my mom with a pic of my son on it cause she is a big coffee drinker. However if your husband isnt they have all kinds of cool things to put pics on even photo books. Well i hope this helps

I had so many ideas the first time around... i can only remember two.

1. picture time... take a picture frame. cut a piect of card board or cardstock paper to fit the frame. then cut a shape in the center slightly larger than the focal point of the babys picture. then glue (tack, tape, anything just get it on there) the shirt he was wearing when the baby was born to the card board. I used sewing pins to make sure the photo would stay where i put it... along with tape (it wasnt going anywhere by golly!!!)

2. molded hands. give him a "certificate" or coupon looking paper in a card or something.. that says
A. he has won a prize, a specail hand ceramony...
OR
b. that hes invited to a memory creation at 3o'clock in the kitchen.

set up the molding stuff you can get at the craft store and have daddy and babys hand print side by side or babys inside of daddys.

anyway .. those are my favorite thoughts!!!

I agree with the other postings. A nice picture of his baby is the perfect gift for a proud daddy. Hallmark has lots of great photo keepsakes. There are plenty of frames just for new dads and photo ornaments for "Baby's First Christmas." They get so choked up over a picture of their precious little ones.

Good luck!

For our first Christmas with our son, I gave this Daddy's Hand coin & poem to my husband. My husband loved it so much he cried. Our son is now almost 4 and my husband still carries it everywhere with him! Here's a link to it:

Good luck & congrats on your new baby!

There's a website called kodakpicturegallery.com, and it has really great gift ideas. You have to register as a member, which is completely free. You upload pictures from your computer or camera, and you can purchase a wide variety of products. For Father's day this year, I created an album for my husband. It was a big hit; He couldn't get through it without crying. Check it out.

For my son's first Christmas, I ordered daddy a photo tie (using one of his favorite pics) from walmart.com. It was only about $15, and was actually very nice. I paid the extra couple dollars to have it giftwrapped in the shipping so when it arrived, I didn't have to worry about hiding it from him. My husband loves wearing it to the office to show off our son. shutterfly.com has a lot of other cool photo gifts also- but the photo tie was a definite winner.

Anything personalized with her picture would be a great gift. My husband used to get t-shirts with our sons picture on it from his mom and he wore them very proudly and after they were worn out I'd cut out the picture and keep them.

I don't know if your husband is into rollerblading or jogging, but my husband wanted to start rollerblading on a regular basis and his parents bought him the blades he wanted for his birthday. He kept saying how he'd love to take Logan out with him, but our stroller wasn't made for that type of activity. So for Christmas he got a jogging stroller. I know it sounds weird but he absolutely loved it. Because he wanted to rollerblade and he wanted to be with his son. I made that happen. So there's my suggestion.
Another cool thing is to get a kit (Michael's or Joann Fabric has them) to make a mold of their hands. He could hold her hand and then dip it into the mix. The kit has all of the instructions. That would be a cool keepsake too and something fun for them to do together.
Good luck!

Congratulations! I don't know if your husband has an office at work but a very cute photo and a nice engraved frame would be really nice for him to display. Make reference to her first Christmas and his first Christmas as a daddy. An engraved watch with something like 1st Christmas XOXO Sabrina or something like that. My husband loved both of these things. On a side note, Make sure you get a Christmas stocking for Sabrina with her name and first christmas on it. This will be my baby's second Christmas and it was such a joy to see the stocking again.

I love pictures. I think a snapshot of your husband and daughter in a picture frame would be nice.

Thanks,

My husband uses a computer at home and so last year I got him a mousepad made that had a really nice picture of him and our daughter. It was like $10 through winkflash.com and he absolutely loved it. I bought him other things but that one little inexpensive gift he loved. You could get him something like that (a picture of them two together). You can also have it made on a mug or shirt if he'd like something like that better.
