Okay - I've asked before and didn't get but 1 response. I'm trying again. Does anyone have any recommendations for day care or in home care in the Fort Worth area? I need child care for at least 3 days a week for a 3 year old and a 5 month old. Really appreciate the suggestions/help!!! I'm desperate!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you guys for the suggestions!!! I had asked the question locally but only got 1 response, so thought I'd make it more generic hoping maybe someone close to my area might read it and to see what options other people in other areas had. Most of my friends have school aged children or live to far....so bummer for me. But I plan on checking out the different websites that were suggested. Thanks ladies!

I'm not sure what part of FW you are in, but we send both of our girls, who are 2 & 4yr old to New Hope Christian School over in Keller. It is an awesome place! And they are about to have open registration. Both the teachers and admin staff rock. Our girls go twice a week. The standard time frame is 8:30-2:30, but they also offer extended care if you need to drop off earlier or pick up later.

Just give them a call - Debbie or Elizabeth will be more than happy to help you, I'm sure!

I don't live in Dallas so I can't recommend anything. What I had to do was find out about home daycares and daycare places and physically go to each one and interview the person in charge. It takes a ton of time but it was worth it. Some places have the TV on ALL day. Some places never take the kids outside. Some places think goldfish are a healthy snack. Some places just seem too loud and crazy. Check Care.com or check out this webpage:

It's going to be a bit of a needle in a haystack getting a localized recommendation here.

I agree with the other response. Go visit places and trust your gut instinct. If it seems like a happy, fun environment, chances are it will be for your child. Then call to verify their licensing status. You can learn of any violations at that point. Also ask for referrals. If you're given a list, start at the bottom when making calls to see what others have thought of the place.

Good luck!

check out care.com or sittercity.com

Or, see if your area has a family/child care resource center that can help you explore your options.

I agree with Heidi M...there may not be many moms here from your area or they simply may not see your question when they are on. It might help to put "child care in Fort Worth" in your subject line so they can see specifics without opening the question...

None of us will likely be able to give you any advice on this. We don't even live in your state.

I always went to the state office where one applies for child care assistance and asked them for a list of certified child care centers. I chose to never use home child care. I prefer a center atmosphere of multiple staff and them having checks and balances in place if someone is off sick.

There should also be a web page through the state social services site for child care. They should have each one listed and a rating, plus their past inspection findings.

Try calling a few of the local churchs, they may be aware of some stay at home moms who would love to invite your children into their home.
Good luck.

I'm sorry I can't help you, but you might have better luck if you put your city and state in the title of the question. That way it will attract the attention of people in your area.

Unfortunatly unless you live in the area you are looking for it's hard to give a good answer to that. Do you have any friends that have their children in daycare near you? If not check local churches that might run daycares. That's the type of daycare my boys went to the longest. But you really would have to visit them and see how you feel about your visit. Sorry I can't give a lot of help.

Have you tried Care on line? You'll need to register to see the caregivers details and there may be a small fee unless your military, its free. The care givers get background checks and some have reviews from other families. The range of pay in LA seems to be between $15-$20 per hour. I've used them to find sitters a couple of times. I recommend trying them out when your home to help out and see if they work for your family. Good luck. Have you checked with your local churches? Some have Mommy's Morning Out or something like that. They usually have a reasonable fee of $20 for four hours.
