Hi! My family is thinking of moving to the Chester Springs area this summer and we're looking for a good preschool for our 3.5 and 2.5 year olds. I'm looking for a place that has a well-structured day, plenty of fun activities and, of course, a very loving and nurturing staff. I've found St. Matthew's, but they have a wait list. Can anyone recommend a place?
Also, does anyone have any opinions/experience with Pickering Valley Elementary School or St Elizabeth's?

I would STRONGLY recommend The Learning Experience in Exton. It would be about a 15 minute drive down Rt. 100 to Rt. 30, but worth it. They have a great curriculum, well structured, and GREAT staff.

Depending on where you are in Chester Springs, two great schools come to mind. Zion Lutheran Preschool (on rt 724) is great. The Director as well as the staff have been there for several years and they are truly dedicated to the kids. My eldest attended there for 3 years. After researching all of the preschools in the area, I chose them because of the Director's hands-on approach, their warmth and their cleanliness.
The other school that comes to mind is Collegeville Montesorri which for whatever reason is not in collegeville but in the Chester Springs/E. Conventry area. It's on Bethel road. I have several friends who had their children attend there and they only had great things to say about. Additionally, unlike other Montessori schools, their price is very reasonable.

Bright Light Early Learning Center is pretty good. My neice went there and she loved the teachers and the enviornment. There is also a Goddard School in CS, but it's a little pricier.
Pickering Valley Elementary has a great reputation. I am not sure if they bus from Chester Springs, but the Renaissance Academy in Phoenixville is a great school, it is free to attend, the kids wear uniforms, and they have an awesome curriculum. My daughter attended grades 4 through 8 there, and she went back into the public school at a grade level above everyone else. They really stress reading skills, have a great fine arts program, and divide the children by level on each class, in other words, if they are strong with math, they will be in a higher math class, but a lower reading if they need more help in that area. The teachers are all great, the class sizes are small and they have a strict behavior policy, which tends to eliminate the undesirables that cause problems in public school.
You could always check into it yourself, if they don't bus, but you are able to drive they will except your kids, they do have a waiting list so you might want to check into it soon. Good Luck...I love the pickering Valley, moved here ten years ago and love it!
