Hello Moms - Do any of you know where to find bras for middle school age girls? We have tried the camisoles & the sport bras but I am looking for more of an actual bra. Are there bras out there that are geared more for girls and don't look so much like an "old lady" bra? Thanks!

I love my barely there ones, they are comfty and I like the no underwire. I've worn sports bra type bras most of my life or at least ones that did not have a catch, and these are the first ones I really like. Kohl's, any of the dept stores, etc all have ones. The clearance racks are always good to- great price, usually some fun colors, etc and a variety of brands to try.

Justice, target, walmart. I have never had trouble finding bras for my young teen that did not look "old lady." Where have you been looking?

If you're looking for "girls" ("A" cup) bras, you can try Walmart, Target, or Kohl's in the girls deparments. They have the panty/bra sets or just the bras separately.

Many middle schooler's wear a "C" cup; you'll need to go to the lingerie store or the lingerie dept. of a department store. If she's developed, be sure to have her measured.

This is where I take my daughter and her friend. They can even give her a fitting (measuring over her t-shirt) to be sure you have the proper size. The ladies will also help find her different styles and sizes. They are truely wonderful and helpful. Best wishes!

Well, awhile ago I realized my daughter needed a bra. We started off with a plain cloth bra, no padding or anything, and it worked out great just as a second layer or an undershirt. I have to say, it didn’t actually do much, except for providing a tiny bit of modesty.
When my daughter kept growing, I gave her a sports bra, which had a little bit more support, and also provided even more modesty.
A little while ago (year or less) I got her a formed bra. Not push up or anything like that, just lightly lined so that nothing would be *ahem* sticking out. We got it from Target in the girls section, and they come in smaller sizes. I think my daughter went straight into a 30AA.
In the last 4 or so months, she has grown out of the girls section, and into women’s bras. She thought she would be a B cup, but she quickly realized that the girl’s bras are smaller than the women’s bras, even if they are labeled as the same size. We were on the search for a good, cute bra that was also comfortable with support, but not sexy. A little while later, we tried GapBody. It was a miracle!!! There bras were functional and comfortable, without being ‘old lady-ish’. They were about $40 (US), which is not bad for a bra, but just a tiny but pricey if she’ll grow out of it in a month or so. But just because she’ll grow out of it, doesn’t mean you should sacrifice quality/comfort.
Our problem with the GapBody bra is it’s super comfy when it fits you perfectly, but kind of just irradiating in a way if it’s just a little too small.
So still on the look out for a perfect t-shirt bra. I plan to take my daughter with me to VS Pink to get her fitted properly, not just by her mother making an educated guess.
Recently, my daughter’s breasts have gotten bigger and more swollen due to the new concept to her of having her period, so she’s been complaining about them bouncing around a lot. So we were on the look out for an actual sports bra. The other day we were in Lululemon looking for some new leggings for her, when she was trying on some clothes, a found a whole bunch of sports bras, so I brought some in for her to try them on. The lady who helped me find some was very helpful, and obviously knew what she was talking about. I found that their bra sizes run on the small side, and the bra that worked best for her was a size 4 (she wears a 32a, but probably should be wearing a 32b or 34b). Sk far she LOVES it. She says it’s easy to take on and off, comfortable, cute, doesn’t squish your breasts but gives amazing support, and it’s breathable and cotton, meant for sports and everyday use. In other words she thinks it’s perfect for her, which is good.
Good luck on finding something for your daughter!! I will leave links below on what we got.

Look at wal-mart in the girls clothing section, (not the area where they sell the woman's bras) they have some cute ones.
