Boba Baby Carrier?

I have been looking into getting a new carrier for my son for quite some time. We have a Baby Bjorn but I find it uncomfortable and I know it's not good for his back/legs. He is 2 months old and 14 pounds (yes, he is huge!). I would prefer to get something that I could use for a while and is not just infant specific (like a sling). I am breastfeeding so if it's possible to do while wearing it, that would be a plus! We live in TX so I am not too interested in a Moby b/c the thought of 5 yards of fabric around the two of us sounds horrible!

Does anyone have any experience with the Boba Baby Carrier? They are on sale on Zulily today and the price is great so I'm hoping to make a decision asap!! http://www.zulily.com/invite/mlarson639/e/boba-082211.htm...

What can I do next?

Hi. I've had every carrier out there and for toddler up boba has been the best for us. The 2.0 will carry him up to 45 pounds and it's cut with wider higher fabric to feel more secure with a bigger baby. I have two and really, could not live without them. I like the carriers like Gemini etc that you can hip carry but after 14 months or so it hurt my back. My back never hurts with the boba. We walk on the beach daily with it. I think you will be happy with it. The colors are not the best but I like tweet the best. Hope this helps!!!

I personally didnt like the boba - but that's just personal preference...there wasn't anything I didn't like, there were just other carriers I liked better. I prefer the Beco Gemini for it's versatility (can wear front or back or side, facing in or out). I am large chested and was able to breast feed in the gemini. If I didn't care about being able to face baby out, I would have opted for Olives & applesauce. I know it won't help you now with the boba on sale, but www.paxbaby.com lets you rent carriers and try them out to determine if you like them.

We have both the Bjorn and the Ergo. My husband swears by the Bjorn, I prefer the Ergo. The Ergo is really easy on the back. Sorry can't help with the Boba.

I don't think I could breastfeed in the Ergo.

I have an Ergo which is similar--it will work from this age up to 35 ish lbs.--I carry my 3 year old that is almost 30 lbs. on my back with it. Breastfeeding with it --I can't but that might be my bustline though. A ring sling is better for nursing I think.

I have a friend who purchased an Ergo and loved it. When her son got a bit taller she purchased a Boba b/c of the foot stirrups. After 2 weeks she was complaining that the Boba was falling apart and after 2 years her Ergo was still going strong.
