Baby Carrier Advice?

Hi Moms-
My daughter is 9 months old and weighs 20 pounds. I am looking for a new baby carrier for her. We have a Baby Bjorn and while she likes it (loves to be carried!), I don't find it to be comfortable at all (hurts my back) and I've heard they are bad for baby's hips. We also have a Moby Wrap but I've just never gotten good at it or comfortable with it. I'm considering an Ergo carrier but wondering if she will be happy facing in, versus facing out like in the Bjorn? Are Ergo carriers good for older babies or are they more for younger babies? Do you have any other suggestions for carriers? Is here something where baby is outward facing, that isn't bad for them (or mom's back)? I've also considered the hiking backpacks but most look so large/intense it seems like a bit much for the grocery store :). I'd love any suggestions of what has worked well for you! Thanks!

What can I do next?

My vote is for the ERGObaby, it will hold her in the proper place. Studies show that facing out in a carrier isnt good for their backs. Also you dont just have to carry her on your front, you can use the ERGO as a back pack. It is amazing.

I vote Ergo as well.

My daughter is 3.5 (almost 40 lbs) and we still occasionally break it out in crowds, long walks from parking to entrance, or cave tours (our family likes to go on cave tours).

Personally, I loved my Slingling. It is a pouch style carrier. I carried my son until he didn't want to be carried anymore. It was an absolute lifesaver when we were shopping! I loved the hip carry when he was around your daughters age. We too had a Bjorn and it also hurt my back. I didn't have that problem with my sling. The fabric spreads across your back so the weight is distrubuted evenly unlike a backpack or front carrier. You can use it from birth- 35 pounds. They have tons of colors and fabrics to choose from. You get the size you need based on your measurements. I really can't say enough good things about them! Check out their website

Good luck!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my baby backpack (yes, the kind used for hiking), and my son loves it too. He's higher up, so he really gets to check stuff out. It's super lightweight and not the hassle you'd think it'd be from looking at it. Easy on/off/in/out. I prefer this over a front carrier any day. Free's my hands up more too, and he can't get into things like he could in a front carrier. Try buying one second hand; you might be surprised at how much you like it... AND they go up to 40+ lbs!

Boboa.
I want one soo bad! My friend uses one and it is soo easy looking. Also it has foot straps for the baby/toddler so their feet aren't dangling. Which I know is uncomfortable.
**Oh and it's up to 40 lbs. Front or back carrying.

I really liked the Beco Gemini.
It has 4 carries: Facing forward, facing out, hip, and back.
Distributes the weight great.
And super cute.

Like MegandOllie, I thought the Boba looked awesome too, never got a chance to test it out, but I would consider it. :)
