Hi ladies! My son will be 6 the end of May and we usually have his birthday party as a BBQ in the backyard. This year, he doesn't want that (and honestly, I am OK with that because its so much work for me). His sister had a bowling party in January and he is interested in that, but I am also looking for other ideas. We live in Attleboro, so I'd like it a reasonable distance from here since all the kids live nearby. Any and all ideas welcome!!!

What can I do next?

Showcase does movie parties I think. Or maybe a movie under the stars - get a new DVD - use a laptop and a projector - and watch a movie outside with smores and pop corn :) Parents can come too - like a drive in theatre.

Dave and Busters does parties but they might be a bit pricy.

I have heard that some karate studios do parties also - some gyms do the same thing.

Good luck!

Check out my blog for vendor listings (MA is 95% done) divided by entertainers, locations and goods--then alphabetical. The book version published in November has a town and county index (Amazon and ARTBEAT both Franklin and Arlington) birthdaygurumama.blogspot.com

Hi M.!

We recently had my daughter's 7th birthdy party at the YMCA. We were able to get the entire pool to ourselves for an hour and then use the activity room for cake, ice cream and presents. We had 18 kids and all of them really enjoyed swimming!

We also went to a roller skating party at United Skates of America that's in Rumford, RI, which isn't that far from Attleboro. They have some really great coupons online too.

Good luck in your decision!

Hi
I agree with Lisa S. When my daughter had her birthday parties at the local YMCA and it was great! We recently went to the roller blading place too and that was fun.
Now we had the party at the Y because my daughter LOVES to swim...I would say try to arrange at party at something your son loves to do ....swim, rollerblade, play baseball...there are some places you can go for batting practice...or miniture golf...bye for now
