In most doctor's offices there are magazines called childrens directory. They have ads for princess tea parties and other really cute ideas. There is also a place on 1960 called Jumping Jacks that I hear is really cute. It's nothing like Pump it up....

What about a tea/dress-up party at home or at the museum? At the movies or bowling? At a farm near by? At the zoo. A swimming party. I have three and have gotten very created. We have had parties at almost all of these. Have fun and remember the most important thing to your child is that you love her and help her celebrate her special day.

The purple teapot!!!!!! Look for it in the kid's directory magazines found all around town. The little girls get to play dress up....dresses, shoes, jewelry, hats, gloves, etc. THen a sweet woman does their nails and make-up, and finishes with a "proper tea", with pastries, on a beautiful table. We were their over spring break and were very impressed!

I rented a moonwalk for my son (2) and my niece (10) and placed it in our backyard. The kids ages ranged from 2-12 and they all absolutely loved it. And it kept them very busy for hours. Just an idea.

A fun one I saw that was a little different was having a movie party. Before the kids ate pizza and grouped together at the snack shop inside. They actually have birthday packages. (Tinseltown)

Build a Bear also does birthday parties for pretty reasonable prices.

At The Woodlands mall they have parties at the kids salon near the food court. You can have the girls and their dolls hair styled.(That is actually one of the two packages)

The Little Gym near my home does themed birthday parties.

The Children's Museum in The Woodlands has a few different optioned themed birthday parties you can choose from and are reasonable.

Hope this helps.

Fun Tiki in Missouri City (on FM 1092)just opened. They have several packages to chose from and we are planning a birthday party there for my daughter in August. We have also done them at Liby Lu, Build a Bear, Sea Star Swim School and Skate Central. All were a blast. (though some were definitely better than others!)

If you live in The Woodlands, you might consider a pool party at a fun pool like Cranebrook (near the new YMCA, off of Cranebrook and Woodlands Parkway).

I have a petting zoo business and we have a birthday special. We have both farm n exotics in our zoo, and we also bring a pony to give rides. A zoo and a pony is 300.00 for 2 hours. Never met a kid that didn't love the animals at their party!

We did a pony party at the YMCA Camp Pine Tree in Spring. They may start children ages 5 and up so if not this year, maybe next. It was very fun for the kids, very safe too! Just an idea! Good Luck!

A co-worker of mine just had a "red carpet" birthday party for her daughter. She wanted all the attention and she got it.

I personally am going to have little ponies at my daughter's birthday party and I'm going to ask all the parent's to dress their kids up in their favorite cartoon character.

call a gymnatics club in your area. You can usually rent the gym for a couple hours and they provide staff for crowd control and games. You don't have to clean up and the kids are worn out and ready for a nap afterwards.

Hi L.,

I had my daughter's 6yr old birthday party in my back yard...she is into Disney Princess & we surprised her with a Disney princess character who comes equipped with magic tricks, face painting, balloon characters & singing & dancing. I also had a moon jump in the back yard. I don't know how many kids you are planning on having, but the company that I used was: http://www.houstonclownfun.com - ask for Suzzala, she is just awesome & wonderful.

I had @ 23 kids & every kid was so happy with her. For food my husband had grilled burgers & hotdogs w/ chips & "hugs" fruit drinks in the cooler.

What is your child into? What does she like? When is her birthday? Where do you want to hold it? Maybe I can help you come up w/ many more ideas.

It may be a bit old, but it would depend in your daughter. Mine is only 3 and LOVES Club Libby Lu (First Colony Mall)- they do birthday packages, etc. but that would only work if she is just inviting little girls. Good Luck.

For my daughter's 5th birthday, we did a bowling party. The place put the bumpers in the gutters and the kids had a blast using every maneuver imaginable to get the ball down the alley (one hand, two hands, backwards between the legs...you get the idea). Some of the girls even tried making "alley angels" by laying on the slick floor and waving their arms and legs about (I've got great pictures). We were able to do pizza for everyone, an hour and a half of bowling, and an actual bowling pin for everyone to sign (that my daughter STILL has displayed in her gameroom) for about $10 a kid.

You could do a tea party at one of the tea rooms, Build-a-Bear at Memorial City (McDonald's Happy Meals & cake at the food court), Bayou Wildlife Park (http://www.bayouwildlifepark.com/index.html); the Houston zoo has a birthday party package, Cinemark Tinseltown (Hwy 290 & Spring Cypress) offers party packages as well. Good luck! Let us all know what you end up doing and how it went. :-)
