we had my son's 2nd birthday at a Gymboree and it was fantastic! I didn't have to do anything but bring snacks and cake. They had great activities and even learned his favorite song at the time to sing. well worth the money!

Gymboree is great for parties, but I wonder if 4 is too old? We had our daughter's 2nd bday there. My Gym is a blast for parties. What about Pump It Up?

My best friend had her son's 4th birthday party at My Gym, which is basically that same thing. The kid's had a blast. I don't remember what she paid, but if it's not outrageous, I would highly recommend it. What was really great was that they had plenty of free play, but they would break in every few minutes with a structured game so the kids didn't go too crazy. The structured games were things like Duck, duck, goose and the parachute so even those were highly entertaining.
