I'm about ready to jump on the "Green" train, but I really don't know where to start. I'd like to find a website that I can trust with fair prices and good information for me and to learn and show my husband.

If you have made or started to make the switch to Green, could you please let me know of some good, legitimate shopping sites?

Thanks.

Totally agree with people about Shaklee products. Company has been around a very long time and has been green way before it became fashionable. My family has been using their products for over 30 years.

The best prices you will find are on Drugstore.com in the natural section. I used to do Melaleuca but it is way more expensive than drugstore.com and there is a monthly commitment, whereas, drugstore.com you order what you need when you need it. The site has everything from diapers to toothpaste...you can find it all. Even most grocery stores now have all natural products. I know Woodmans, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods have tons!

Good Luck and Good For you going "Green"

Hi! Welcome to the "green" world! Good for you for treating yourself and your family the best possible. We too are almost all organic and we have always used or attempted to use chemical free cleaning and laundry. So, good question...I will tell you one completely dishonest line not to get involved with and that is melaleuca. They claim to be very healthy and chemical free etc. We were members for 3 years so I am very familiar with ALL their items and products. After a while of using them I realized they were not truly so healthy and they are NOT organic or all natural. They are a bit better than the regular stuff but still have many non-synthetic chemicals and many of their food items (ie. cough drops, pills, etc.) have artificial flavors and colors. I don't call that natural or healthy if you ask me. So stay far away from them or anyone trying to talk you into spending LOTS of money on things that are NOT green.

Alternatively, there are a lot of things out there but I could help you if I have specifics. What would you like good names for? Laundry - I like to use a few different things. Cleaning, I make homemade sprays and cleaners. It just depends what...Be in touch if you need help!

Hi T.!

My husband and I are both cancer survivors and have an 11 yr old daughter. After my diagnosis, which they said was environmental...I started doing major research and went GREEN! For cleaning products I use some natural solutions, baking soda, vinegar, and also target now carries some great environmentally friendly lines. Obviously, this is a lifestyle...starting with food, our surroundings, etc. One thing I had not taken into consideration was it's equally important to focus on what we put ONTO our skin as it's our largest organ. I was focusing on food labels, then my researh I got my eyes opened to how very important this is and was at a cancer fundraiser and was introduced to Arbonne Int'l products...they have skin care and nutrition. I researched the company and the products and found they were botanically based, pure, safe and beneficial. No harmful ingredients (no phalates...which many US products have...even the high end ones...that have been linked to cancer). They really repaired the damage to my skin from chemo and radiation. I started sharing this great find with others and it feels good to know I'm educating people on a wonderful, safe alternative to skin care and nutrition for the entire family....babies to adults!

I'd be happy to send you some info and samples and answer any questions you have. I'm very passionate about this and making sure people are aware there's a better option for your family....so much we can do to avoid illness and protect our environment!

I look forward to hearing from you!
All my best!

I know my household is about to start trying Shaklee too. It's taken forever for the order to be shipped but it's suppose to be here today! So order well in advance. I'm not sure if others have this issue or if it's just me. But I am anxious to try it. I am especially excited that this won't be so toxic and harmful as other cleaners.

My son has tons of food and environmental allergies. We decided that we would "go green" a year ago and changed all of our products. We have been using Shaklee and LOVE IT!!! I am becoming a distributor for them as I type this (since I highly believe in the products and have noticed a change with my little guy). If you would like more information, please let me know. Thanks and good luck.
