Best Book YOU Have Read?

Best book is actually a Trilogy..Hungry Games. By far my favorites ever.

Then a very close second is the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

I am now starting the J. Reecher series by Lee Child.

I don't tend to read books if they are not in a series. I usually get bored and don't finish.

I just finished the Hunger Games. LOVED it. I also recently read the dragon tattoo trilogy. FABULOUS. Also, all of the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly and all of the Lincoln Rhymes books by I forget who.

I used to read Mary Higgins Clark books but when I had read book 724 and realized it was the exact same as the previous 723 books I was done. Why it took me that long, I'll never know. Except that I like easy reading I guess. LOL!

Last week The Hunger Games series. The 3rd one was a little slow but wasn't bad. Best books I've read in a while.

The best book I've read in the last year is The Help.

Some of my all-time faves are: She's Come Undone, I Know This Much Is True, and The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb, Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue, The Secret Life of Bees by S. Monk Kid, Where The Heart Is by Billie Letts

Memoirs of a Geisha comes to mind when I read your question. I have a lot of favorites, and it's definitely up there on the list.

The Hunger Games Series by FAR the best books I have ever read!!! Seriously think everyone should read these books. They are captivating!!

I love to read and I love to read various types of books so to narrow it down is tough! Stephen King's The Stand will always be one of my favorites. I have read it a few times and know I will read it again. The best book I've read recently? Probably The Hunger Games. It was given to me by my sister and it isn't anything like what I would usually read but it sucked me right in and I loved it!

Best books I have ever read were the Harry Potter series. JK Rowling is a complete genius.

I also read a lot! But the book that immediately comes to mind is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I would have never picked it up on my own, but it was a book club pick. Once I got into it, I really couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to read the sequel, World Without End.

The second recommendation I ALWAYS make is the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Series. Again, couldn't put them down and couldn't wait to read the next.

Best in the last year, The Help and Unbroken. I just finished When she Woke and it was very good, couldn't put it down. I love Wally Lamb for really messed up characters, Tawni O'dell for messed up families, Lorna Lanvik for quirky and fun, Jennifer Crusie for a good laugh.

The best book recently would definitely be "The Heart of a Lion" by Derek George. He talks about his son (now 18) being born with 1/2 of a heart and going through surgeries, etc. Our son (almost 4) was also born with 1/2 of a heart and it just really hit close to home. He wrote about his emotions and fears which we could totally relate to! My husband and I both read it and cried throughout the entire book!

In the last year - loved Help, the Hunger Games trilogy was excellent, and I am LOVING the Game of Thrones series as well. Oh - and the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo books were great too. Always love Jodi Picoult books as well..but read them so fast that they always blur together a bit. :)

Ever - the book I read at least once every 2 years is The Time Traveller's Wife. I'm a true romantic and it is, I think, the most original love story ever told. I am captivated, heart-broken, and inspired EVERY time I read it.

I recently finished a book by David Baldacci called "The Winner". It was the best book I have read in years! I read a lot. I will compare it to a Soap opera that was on years ago with a character called Mr. Big. It was not my usual style. Normally I read serial killer types. This was a mystery but not that type. It was less blood and gore. All of his books are good but this one was spectacular!

Best ever would probably be "Pride and Prejudice", followed right behind by "Persuasion". I've read both multiple times.

I was an English major in college and I remember when we finally had to read Jane Austen it was a downright treat - didn't feel like studying at all.

In the last year, I thought "The Help" was good, much better than the movie. "Hunger Games" were excellent. Ran through those in just a few days.

I read A LOT..I mean A LOT..so does my husband! I have read most of the books the ladies have listed below. My answer is going to make me look like a young immature trashy person, which I am not... but oh well, it is the truth:

The best book I have read this last year has been 'Assholes Finish First' by Tucker Max! I laughed out loud and almost until I peed! He is freaking hilarious! I also loved his 'I hope they serve beer in hell' and I just bought his latest 'Hilarity Ensues' but lent it to my sister to read while she is traveling, can't wait til she gets back with it! These are not great big books, I finished both in just 1 day.

Seriously! I laughed SO hard at his books, they are great. It probably has something to do with the fact that he reminds me of my very first love when I was a teenager!

Pillars of the Earth is one of my all-time favorites The Help..The Historian..there are so many. I can't think of them all.

ooh, to pick my favorite ever would be impossible - I read too much. This year it's definitely The Hunger Games. As for a favorite all time genre, it's definitely Historical Fiction. I have Sarah's Key on my to read list. I was just recommended Crossing To Safety and it's a good book thus far. Very different pace from The Hunger Games which I just finished reading. I would call it gentle compared to gritty, so it took me a bit to get into it, but I like it.

The Shack, by William Paul Young - Profound and Life Changing.

Dark Tower/Gunslinger series by Stephen King. Epic.
