Best and Most Efficient Way to Clean Baseboards?

Toothbrushes? Baking soda??? Good grief, you mamas are awesome... I use a baby wipe when I actually clean it. HAHAHA.

Magic eraser works great. I find that this is a great job for my kids. They actually like it and it keeps me from having to bend down or crawl around my house on my hands and knees.

Don't hand magic erasers to your kids. They do contain chemicals and have a mild abrasiveness that can cause skin irritation.

I use vinegar and a microfiber cloth. It's easy, non-toxic, and won't strip your paint or lacquer.

I have never cleaned the baseboards unless I notice something on them. Having said that...... I have in the past when my kids have driven me nuts handed them babywipes and had them wiping baseboards, door frames and doorknobs lol in our house a lot of times depending on the infraction of said child the consequence has to benefit the family/household so if they get in trouble I sometimes had to make up a job. that was one of them

I use the hose attachment for the vacuum to "dust" them when I vac, that really keeps the grime from accumulating and is superfast. Every once in a while I will give them a scrub with dish soap and a long handled dish brush - works great for me and it gets into all the little crevices while still being relatively fast.

Clean the baseboards every time you clean for a while, then every other time you clean. This way, you keep up with it and it'll be easier to maintain. As for what you clean it with, if you want major scuff marks cleaned off, I suggest you use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser...if you want a wipedown, I spray a towel w/Lysol 4 in 1 multipurpose cleaner or even a cloth dampened in vinegar water.

An old toothbrush dipped in a little baking soda. Brush it along the baseboards. Then vaccuum up the dirt/soda debris.

Hire someone else to do it. :)

I Put the soft brush attachment on my vacuum and vacuum them. No flying dust resettles and they are perfectly clean! I have a Kenmore canister vacuum. Best wishes and God bless!

for a dedicated/deep clean, a bowl of warm water, murphy's oil soap and a rag.
for every week stuff, vacuum. In- between and I see something - a baby wipe or glass works, or even a rag with some soap and water from the kitchen - LOL!

You mean just cleaning the dust off of it, or scuff marks/stains/pen marks from it???

For just cleaning the dust off of it, well I just do it by hand with a diaper wipe.

I use my kids and a baby wipe too. Occassionally I will get on my hands and knees and wipe them (baby wipe always does wonders) but usually my youngest is begging to do the job!

Honestly, my kids love doing it. I hand them dusters or sometimes I even hand them lysol wipes. It's a competition to see who can get the most dirt off the baseboards. :) They are shorter- it will help your back! haha

Wrap a damp towel around a telescopic duster and apply a little pressure to the baseboards while you walk the edge of the room. Works great! Give the kids a duster too!

Just to clean off dust, baby wipes are great!

To dust the baseboards I use a broom...when I actually use a cleaner, I use Clorox or Lysol wipes...that rarely happens by the way ;)
