Hi Ladies!

I am having a scheduled C-Section in 3 weeks and am thinking about getting the Belly Bandit to help with my stretched out belly skin. Is it worth it??

What can I do next?

hi. I don't know if it helps out with stretched out belly skin but I would definitely recommend it and do to all my friends. It definitely helped compress my belly and get it flatter way earlier than I expected. I was, in fact, kinda amazed. But there was a benefit I hadn't bought it for....it helps you feel more 'put together'. After my son was born I felt like my insides were all 'loose' in there. The belly band helped everything feel so much more put together. It also helped with posture while I was breastfeeding. I didn't have a c-section but I imagine that it would help in that it wouldn't along the skin around the scar to shift too much, which I suppose would help with healing. But yeah, I would recommend it.

My Dr. advised me, to only use the binder they gave me at the hospital, for the first couple of weeks. I can't remember her reasoning, because it was a hectic weekend!! I used it for a couple of weeks, which helped a lot with any pain. It was definitely harder to move well without it on. I didn't use anything after two weeks and my stomach was back to normal in a month or two. I don't know, if it was the binder, or genetics...but it seemed to help!!

I think u are better off with one of the exercise wraps you can pick one up at target or marshalls. I have a belly bandit size extra small it was stiff and I even paid extra to get the bamboo one I think I wore it 3 or 4 times. I put the bally's exercise wrap on at the hospital and wore it for a long time even while sleeping. The belly bandit kept rubbing up underneath my bra and made me look like i had back fat, it crinkled up. The benefit to the wrap is you can wear it at any comfort because there isn't a set place for closure you put the velcro end on any part of the material as loose or as tight. It will get sweaty under there though so if you are still ealing put like a light tank top on first, then wrap. Then when u are ready work out it is awesome, you will sweat like crazy under there. Let me know if you have any other questions. L.

I had a c-section 9 days ago and have been wearing the belly bandit around the clock since about day 5. In the hospital I put it on for a few hours on day 3 but i was still too sore so waited a few more days to start wearing it. I bought two belly bandits off of ebay (way cheaper than getting them from the website)- one in a large and one in a medium. I did not get the bamboo one but have been fine even though I had a c-section. I graduated from the large to the medium today (9 days after baby was born) and feel like it does help get your tummy back into a more normal shape. After my c-section my stomach was stretched out and I had a flap of skin/ fat hanging down (like what you see on the biggest loser!) I was horrified but now my stomach no longer hangs down and looks more or less normal except for the extra layer of fat I need to lose. Point is I can at least see that my previous shape is there- under a layer of baby fat but not impossible to get back. I agree with one of the other reviewers that the belly bandit can crinkle and cause any back fat to be more obvious but I figure thats the price I pay for gaining a few more pounds than I should have while pregnant. Overall I think it is really helping.

I dunno if it helps w/the stretched skin, that sounds like an advertising claim to me. :) But, YES, ask for a band like this at the hospital. They will give you one. I had this odd sensation like my insides were falling out and that I wanted my belly held in and this band helped immensely. It also provided back support. There are cheaper versions that the Belly Bandit. The one they give you at the hospital is pretty hard core. It provides a lot of support and you wrap it where you want it w/velcro. These are slip on ones that will provide you w/comfort after the first 1-2 weeks. Best of luck!

check with your hospital - mine gave me a band that had velcro closures on it so i could make it tight or loose. they put me in it not too long out of recovery and i went home with it and a 2nd one. after about 2 weeks wearing it - i went back to my belly band tube top thing that i had been wearing over my regular pants so i could wear them while i was preggers. it definitely helped.

Is that what the velcro wrap is called? I have had 2 c-sections and for the last bought a griddle at jcpennys and sooo not worth it. The button hooks were uncomfortable but having the support around the belly was GREAT! My friends got the one with velcro that you can buy online from maternity stores and swear by them. I was trying to save some money and found out i should have gotten it.
Carry a pillow with you for the first wk or so. It helps when riding home from hospital, sitting, sleeping and anything. Try not to sneeze or cough the first wk, its painfull. Walking will be painfull too but necessary to prevent bloodclots and help reduce the swelling in the feet. Use pillow
Dont do any chores for at least 2 wks. Big mistake with first c-section and took longer to recover. My second wasn't so bad and i healed faster since i didnt try to do anything for 2 wks.
