My oldest is 2 and my youngest is 7 months. My neighbor recently went on the Flat Belly diet and had great results. I am in the process of trying it and in the first 4 days I lost 2.5 pounds in my belly. You may need to remove the underlying belly fat hiding before you see results from the exercise. I am in the same boat. The boobs need to be fixed by a Dr....no diet will fix those :(.

I agree with all the advice you've been given! If you like to read there is a book called Ms. Understood. (yes you read it right lol) very good book and helps you with your self image!

I would say that before going under the knife that you may want to have your hormone levels checked. That may be the answer for the physical symptoms (not seeing results from working out) and emotional (depression). I think that would be money well spent because if you do get plastic surgery, it will only be a temporary fix to the physical issue. And, if you are not reacting well to exercise you won't be able to maintain it - so it will be very temporary. So, I say hormone check first. And, not to sound cliche here, but you need to love your 45 year old body - it is not the same body as the 25 year old you, BUT at 65 you will yearn for what you had at 45 - so love yourself now and what you look like today. Chances are you are still hot, but you don't need to try compare the current you to the you of 20 years ago.

Good luck to you. :D

I know the feeling.! My experience is that it's nearly impossible to get rid of mid-section fat. Crunches won't take the belly fat away and spot reduction is not possible. They only way to get rid of body fat is through weight loss, cardio exericse and weight training. with weight loss alone all you will end up with (especially after a certain age) is flabby hanging skin. Still, you may lose the weight but the stomach will just go down a little. Especially after having children. I because the muscles are just strecthed beyond what could be done with crunches.
Before my tummy tuck with "muscle repair" I had two c-secions and had this horrible flap of skin that hung down over the scar. I felt deformed and hated to buy clothes for myself. Seeing the results of my surgery only motivated me more to do cardio and weight training. In my Opinion, I look better now than when I was 25, 30 or 35 years old. I say if you want surgery go for it. Just research and find the best person to perform it. I am very happy with my results and would do it again in a heartbeat!!

I am nodding my head with the other comments.... However, after unsatisfactory results from diet and exercise my belly just looked saggier and flabbier. I had a set of triplets and the skin was just stretched beyond belief. No amount of weight loss was gonna fix that! I had a tummy tuck and a lift and couldn't be happier! Since my surgery, I've lost additional weight and I love how I look. Getting rid of that extra skin makes it easier to see the changes that exercise make to my body, and now I'm even more motivated to keep it up! It isn't always the answer, but it was for me. My thought is do what you can, then let the expert do the rest! lol

good luck!

I hear ya' girl. Even though I don't work out as much as you, my trainer says exercise and diet will help some but it won't take away the results of nature and being pregnant. My recommendation is to start a "sinking fund" to save the cash to pay for the proceedure. Once you have accumulated all the required cash to pay for such a proceedure, THEN take a good hard look at that pile of money and evaluate the pros and cons. BTW, have you asked your husband how he feels about you and your body?

I don't have much in the way of advice, but I feel ya! I used to think that when I was done with kids and breastfeeding I wanted my boobs put back in place but now, after two c-sections, I'm thinking I'd rather have that weird belly flap, that my scar holds up, removed! I'm just not sure I'm done having kids.

Good luck - you're not alone!

You don't indicate how long you have been working out or how long you have been having body image issues. If you are not getting any results, it may be because you are doing the wrong kind of work out or your body may be used to that work out regimen. I would recommend working with a personal trainer first before giving up on exercising.

If you have not been in shape for a long while, don't expect to change overnight. Be gentle on yourself and give yourself more time. Also consider a diet change, this will help also. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, fish, and drining plenty of water will help with the resculpting of the body. Building the muscles in the chest with push ups helps to give the breasts a better foundation to sit on. Also a great fitting bra helps too.

Don't give up and opt for surgery yet. Just be a little more gentle on yourself. If your husband still finds you desireable, work with that and stop beating yourself up. I'm in my 40's too and everything isn't what it used to be but I don't beat myself up over it. I just keep working at getting to where I would like to be. Hang in there (no pun intended).
