hey ladies

I am in need of a new bbq grill seems that all we do is spend big money on what you would think would be a good grill and in a couple of years the thing is shot. Does any one have any suggestions as to what brand is better than the other would like a large cooking space and my husband insists on a searer. Thanks for any help you can give me

What can I do next?

I don't have a recommendation for a grill but whatever you decide I would definitely recommend a grill cover. We have always had a grill cover and whether it was a cheapie or a nice grill, it has lasted as long as we wanted it to. Good Luck.

Hey S.. I have a nice grill that you can have. It is a couple of years old, but it is still a great grill. I just moved in with my fiance' and he already had a nice grill just like mine. We just want to give mine away. I'm in Euless if you're interested. It might not be exactly what you want, but it has been a great grill for me. I grill all summer and for lots of people. Let me know. ____@____.com

A Green Egg!! They are super pricy (like $800 for the medium one which is plenty big for a family of 8 even I think). The hold a constant temperture so you can bake on them, smoke on them, grill of course. The outside of the grill does NOT get hot (great around children!) and they have a lifetime warranty. They use a natural charcoal that lasts a LONG time. My mom has had hers 6 years now and it still looks brand new and they don't even cover it or anything, it's outside all the time. Google it and you can read all the great reviews of it. We will buy one when we move, it will be the only grill we ever buy for the rest of our lives! So no junky ones filling up landfills :)

We bought a super nice, large grill from Sam's Club years ago and it is still going strong. It's Members Mark brand and we do keep it under the patio to keep it out of the elements. It has a large working space with granite on either side of the grill along with storage underneath. It was a little pricey, but it has lasted a long time. I typically use it at least a couple of times a week. Based on all the different brands and price comparisons, we felt like you got a lot for the money for the Members Mark brand at Sam's.

The answer is cleaning it after each use, letting it dry and a good cover for it when not in use. Take good care of it and it could last 5-7 years.

We have started purchasing the cheapest grill at Walmark, for $99.00. That way we can afford to replace it every year

I love to BBQ, but I only use charcoal so I have no automatic searer. If I want to sear, I place a frying pan on the grill and when its hot I sear the meat and then place it on the grill.
I used to go through a new grill every 3 to 4 years because the bottom would rust out. I made a grill out of Aluminum which doesn't rust and have had the same grill since 87. Its 26" by 48" and I have done small pigs, up to 250 lbs, on it. Go on line and see what the pros are using and their comments. Go to your favorite BBQ restaurants and see what they use, especially what they use when they come to a party and grill on site. You'll get all kinds of good ideas.
Then go to Craig's list and buy what you want at a fraction of Sam's or Costco wants. The name on the grill is not as important as what features and benefits the grill has.
