I was wondering what I should do for my son's 1st birthday in March. Is a party outside the home appropriate or should I just have a small family party at home, any suggestions

What can I do next?

I have found that the first birthday is more for the adults than the kids! They will never remember it anyway. I had people at my house for my son's 1st and it was great. The only problem is the clean up... I think it is whatever you are comfortable with.

Hello E.,
I don't know if it's just my family or not, but for every childs first birthday it has always been a great big one, if the house was big enough then it was in the house, if not then we just rented a hall that wasn't too much money and we would do all the cooking and what not. I did this for my daughter, and i'm going to do it again for my son in october. I'm sure that you will ome up with a great idea. Hope this helps .
good luck
S.

hi E.,
i have been thinking about the same thing bc my son's 1st bday is also in march. i recently got this great catalog with all sorts of birthday supplies. you might want to look at their website: www.1stwishes.com. also, someone in my playgroup mentioned a place called the bouncing area. they do bday parties, and are specially for children under 6. i have never been there, but that might work, too. here is their website: http://www.bouncingoffthewalls.com...hope this helps. good luck! :)
