Baby Shower Location - 50 People

I am trying to assist my family in finding a baby shower location for me. It will take place in July but we would like to book it far in advance. We are expecting approximately 50 people. Nothing extravagent. Would be fine with considering a location similar to a field house where we have to provide food OR a restaurant setting buffet style that is affordable and have a private room. I realize that there aren't very many affordable restaurant settings that have a private room but you just never ever know what you may be able to run into. Ideally, since I reside in the North Shore I would like to stay relatively close to that area... Morton Grove, Skokie, Buffalo Grove all would be fine as well. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My sister had mine at Lalo's in Glenview. It was great. She spent about 600.00 on food and margaritas for those who wanted them. It was about 4.5 years ago however, prices aren't the same anymore.

People are in need of business so no matter where you go, you can negotiate!!!

Hi There!

I'm currently planning a baby shower too, but it's here in MD. I don't know if you have a local volunteer fire department, but if so check with them. It's usually very reasonable to rent, sometimes just with a donation. Also, if you have an Old County Buffet in your area see if they have a private dining area. One last thought see if any of your family members have a community center or rec center in their housing development that they can rent out.

Good Luck!

Sometimes the Park District Golf Clubs have rooms to rent out and they usually also have a kitchen and could probably offer the food as well.

You could also try churches who often rent out rooms for parties.

We've used our church for our family showers. They are big and usually have a kitchen available. Our church doesn't even charge if you are a member!

We had a Baptism party at Jameson's Charhouse in Arlington Heights on Dundee & 53. They have a private room and they also have a back area that isn't a totally separate room but it still is pretty private. We also had a Party at The Secret Garden, also in Arlington Heights on Rand Rd. It is Polish style all you can eat buffet. It isn't too big of a restaurant so they closed it for our party but we had about 80 people. There is alos Lone Tree manor in Niles on Milwaukee. Polish American food. They have a banquet area that they section off for smaller parties. The prices at all of these were pretty reasonable. For all of these places we were able to bring in our own homemade desserts and a sheet cake. Good Luck!

I had my baby shower at a Shilo Inn/ Elmers restaurant banquet room. We just had little sandwiches and a huge array of fruit.

We did my good friend's shower at her family church. They had a kitchen the allowed us to use.

Also we looked into Community Centers, Parks and Recs rental space, Legion Halls.

If you are mainly just looking for a room to have it in, you can try a local YMCA or the park district. I have 2 park districts by me and one only allows to rent the room for a few hours from 1 to 5 on Sat and Sun and the other one is pretty much available from 10 to 9. I had my d's 1st birthday at the YMCA and brought in food.
