Baby Food - Alexandria,MN

I am expecting my 4th and would love to make my own baby food again. My concern is that the kids go to daycare during the day and so I know the baby will get the store boughten baby food. Has anyone done both before? I know it will in the end totally depend on the child but I was just curious if anyone had tried both at the same time and had success.
Thanks,
S.

I have made my daughter's food from the beginning. The only time she had store bought was some Gerber Organic I had to buy when we were out of state & had forgotten her food. She did eventually eat it, but she fought it for the first couple of meals. The texture & the taste isn't the same (obviously, homemade is better) & she has always been a little texture-phobe. Why can't your daycare give your child the food you bring? I'm sure they would give him/her breastmilk if that is what you provided; this should be no different.

I do home daycare and had a Mom who preferred organic baby food, which is fine...we have done that before with other children. But she started making his food and just supplied it to me in frozen ice cube chunks...a baggie full of each variety a week for an estimate of what I would need. Easy to put it into a small bowl in the morning (what I would need for the day)...and I could always quick-thaw it if I needed more....not a big deal and something to ask about when searching for daycare if you are looking for a new one.

Eventually I started making baby food as well..something I had considered doing long before this child..and will now do for the most part for future children in my care.

My son eats both homemade and store bought. We use store bought for convenience like if we go out to dinner or are on vacation. At home he gets homemade he hasn't ever had a problem with either or switching back and forth. Also I would think if you wanted him to eat the homemade at daycare as long as you provided it your daycare should not have a problem with that. Good luck!

Our daughter got homemade baby food at home, and store bought at daycare and never had any problem with it at all.
