Hi my son is 4 month. My son cries inconsolably a few random times a day. He is not feeding well. He seems hungry but turns his head head away when I take him for bf. He cries with lot of pain at random times during the day. Now due to so much crying his throat seems affected. Voice has got muffled. What to do?

What can I do next?

How long has this been going on for? Have you talked to his dr yet? Does he seem gassed up? I know I had to give both my boys gas drops when they where that young. That is where I would start if you say he sounds like he's in pain. Or he could also have colic. That is not fun the only think that helped when my boys had that was the swing.

What does your Dr say? If you have not taken Him to the Dr.., why?

When your child is obviously not well you GO to the Dr not the Internet.

What to do? You figure out if there's a pattern to his by keeping track of when he is crying and seems to be in pain. You call his doctor and schedule an appointment because a 4 month old who isn't nursing or taking a bottle isn't getting any food and he can't afford to go without eating.
It could be something you are eating that is causing him to have gas or digestive issues.

You have 18 years of parenting ahead of you. You must learn to prioritize when something is wrong with your child.

Crying happens. Not eating? Call the physician immediately! He's an infant, he needs fluids and nutrients immediately for brain development and everything else.

You must absolutely not get in the habit of going on line, whether to anonymous internet forums like Mamapedia or to research symptoms. You have to call the medical professional who knows your child best. You don't fool around with an infant. Your doctor's phone number works 24 hours a day. After hours, you'll get an answering service trained to ask questions of parents and refer those to your doctor or the partner pediatrician on call (usually someone in the same practice).

If you do not have a doctor whose staff welcomes calls from parents, especially new parents who are still learning, you need a new doctor immediately.

Get off the internet, call the pediatrician, and report what's going on. In the future, take notes to help your memory - when it started, when you tried to feed him, whether he ate at all, what his other behaviors are, if he has a fever, whether he has changes in his throat, nose or ears, and so on.

I think you need to get through this issue, and then you need to ask your doctor to refer you to some local parenting classes and a support group so you can learn more and have more confidence. We are all doing this business of raising kids without an "operator's manual." So we have to use experts and get some education.

Could be a lot of things.
teething
colic (look up 'the witching hour')
ear infection
strep
or just bored

It's hard to figure out when they can't tell you what's wrong.
It's good that it's not all day/night - it's not constant and you get breaks from the crying.

A doctors appointment would be good whether it finds something or a relief if they tell you he's fine.
Carry/wear him a lot.
Take him on plenty of stroller walks
A vibrating bouncy seat might help too.

Call your pediatrician. It could be nothing (just colic, which really sucks for Mom but isn't harmful to baby), or it could be something. Only the doctor will be able to tell you.

You really need to call the doctor, so please do that as soon as possible!

My babies all hit a period (around 6 weeks) where they had what appeared to be colic. I don't know if it was a growth spurt of what. Totally inconsolable. For us, it was mostly towards the evening. It went on for a few weeks. Mine fed well though, but would cry anyways, and then I didn't know what to. Thankfully it was a phase.

Make sure you've got his gas up (big burp) if he's hungry but not burping. If he's crying inconsolably, and wanting to feed, then he has trapped air in there from all the crying. Get that out before trying to feed.

I would guess though if this is not 'typical' for him, that he might not be feeling well - and I'd take him in. It could be ear pain (infection). This sounds familiar. He could have sore throat with it. They are so little and can't tell us what's wrong. Better to get him checked out to be sure.

Mine did not always have temperatures with ear infections. If it's not, and just a fussy growth spurt, at least you will know.
