Ok...after looking into places to go I think I found a solution. I wasnt going to have it at home b/c of space....but Im going to have a family party on her real b-day and a friends only party on the Sat after. Its going to be a mommy and me princess party so the dads wont have to come to cut down on people. we are all going to dress up. I need some ideas from people who have had princess parties on some things to do w/ decorate w/. We are going to do hair, makeup and nails but not too sure on other things yet. I wanted something fun that 4 yr olds wont get bored with or be too difficult with. I thought of plant the kiss on the frog instead of the donkey. I guess Im going to have to make a big frog head (any suggestions on that). Also what is good for goody bags so its not junk stuff ( I always hate getting it so I dont want to give it either). Well any advice would help.

What can I do next?

My daughter had a Princess Party last year when she turned 5. We decorated little trinket boxes with markers and stickers. I found some heart shaped plastic boxes at the local dollar store. We also played "Pin the heart on the princess" just like "pin the tail on the donkey" but with a heart and a big picture of a princess. I had a coloring page of Disney's Jasmine and free handed it to a larger size. The kids had a blast. My daughter is asking to play that game again! Also, we decorated our own cupcakes. I made cupcakes and several colors of iciing. Oh, we also had all the kids (my daughter has several boy friends) dress up and we took their pictures with the digital camera and printed them off, put them in a dollar store picture frame and everyone had a keepsake of my daughter's party. Everyone got involved including the parents. Have fun and I hope this helps.

My friend does princess parties and she is amazing. If you don't use her... maybe you can at least glean some ideas from her website for your party.

For the frog head, it could always be a green floating balloon with a face drawn on it... or you could paper mache it, or get a pinata...

Also, I am a hairstylist and little girls love updo's. Get a pack of party tiara's and wands for cheap at party city, put the girls' hair in a twist or ponytail and pin curls loosely over the elastic, so it spills over the tiara and looks pretty. Then, top it off with the tiara.

For goody bags, the tiara and maybe a wand can be the take home toy. I make tutus and cold always do some for you for a take home gift without getting outrageously expensive.

www.birthdaypartyideas.com I generally find lots of adaptable ideas on this!

Good luck!

My sister had a princess party and did a castle cake... had them make "fairy wands" (wind ribbon around painted dowel rods and use a low temp glue gun to adhere little butterflies), there's a dealer on e-bay that sells tiaras, wands, tutus and wings that would be good "favors" and party decorations at the same time.... You can buy them in entire lots so that you'd have one for each guest.... you could buy tulle pretty cheap and do a fancy table... just pulling these ideas out of the air (sorry if they suck! LOL).... you could print out your own invitations and use kind of old english lettering and do the "here ye... here ye... " type wording... if you have a friend that will come and paint faces/cheeks... that is usually a HUGE hit at parties with young girls... or for their take home... have some little tulle bags and put some stickers and a small container of lip gloss in it and maybe a clippie....

have them decorate their own sundaes -- complete with fairy dust (colored sugar)...?? or decorate their own princess cookies... find a castle shaped cookie cutter? you could buy christmas lights and string it around -- pink ones.. purple ones together...

I went to Party City for my son's birthday and saw A LOT of pink frilly princessy type things that you could use for party favors. If you don't want to go to the store to look, you can always look online first to see if they have what you want. That's what I did. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, and I think it took probably half the time inside the store than it would have otherwise. Good luck, and it sounds really fun!

See if you can find anything you like on www.centurynovelty.com. I just ordered the cutest bean bag frogs on there for my daughters party for under a dollar a piece. LOVE your party idea! I need to remember that one! ;o)

This is probably a little older than 4 (I think this girl was 6 or 7) but just to give you an idea, my daughter went to a "princess" party like that last year and the mom bought these combo picture frames and mirrors that were shaped like purses in different colors that she found for a dollar (for each set) at a dollar or outlet store. She wrote each guests' name with a sharpie or paint pen on their frame and mirror and set up little tables with the mirrors as place settings. At each mirror, she placed a play set of make up (lip gloss and eye shadow) that she got real cheap at a dollar our outlet store (like 2 lip gloss sets for $1) and after the girls all put on their makeup, she had a little station where there were a bunch of dress up clothes including feather boas, hats, dresses, play jewelry, etc. The girls could pick out what they wanted to wear and then they took a digital picture of them all dressed up and printed it out before the end of the party, put it in their coordinating frame as part of their party favors. The girls also got to keep their mirror with their name on it and the make up that they used for dress up. They set up the cake service like a little tea party. She had a cupcake tree and a small decorated cake. There were other things like nuts, m&ms, skittles and some other little foods that were all set up on fancy silver serving trays and three tier servers that made it all very "grown up" for the girls. Of course the birthday girl wore the princess crown the whole time and was dressed in a pretty frilly princess dress. It was a cute and cheap party and the girls all had fun. I hope your little princess has wonderful birthday too. Good luck!
