Hello, All! Most of you who post seem to be happily married, and while I am happy for you, I know there must be those of you out there who have gone through a divorce here in Missouri. I just recently found out that my husband is involved with someone else and wants a divorce. We also had a business that went under and are going to be filing for bankruptcy, which we have an attorney handling already. At this point things are amicable between the two of us, and I don't think he will fight me on much, but I want to make sure I have a good divorce attorney who can get me the best deal possible given the circumstances. We have a daughter who just turned three. I live in West County, so would ideally like a lawyer who's close. A woman would be prefereable, but not required. If you know anyone good, please send their info my way! Thanks a bunch!

I don't know of anyone specifically, but if you are amicable, then you could save an awful lot of time and money by going through mediation rather than the traditional divorce court. You can choose to have lawyers or not, but a mediation attorney helps you with fairness and lets you both know how your decisions will affect you legally and financially. You can search for lawyers who specialize in mediation on the internet. I know there are some in St. Louis.

I like my lawyer Greg Roberts. TN# (866) 585-3690. He's located out of Chesterfield. I used him for my child custody case and got sole legal custody of my son. My friend referred me to him after her divorce. She liked him as well.

Sorry to hear about your recent turn of events. Stay strong and best of luck.

I have two attorneys, one I used during my divorce, one I use to keep my ex under control since the divorce. Both charge $250 an hour and require 5,000 and 10,000 for retainers. Contact me privately if you need the names. I personally don't believe that an attorney is something you should cut corners on when there are children involved.

My exes lawyer was Jay Galmache, I would not recomend him. Not because of my divorce, he is just not a good lawyer and not properly certified to handle family law. Now if you need to fix a ticket, have a DWI, need to sue a doctor and need a divorce I suppose he could be considered one stop shopping. :S
