I want to switch to glass baby bottles. I just bought Dr. Brown's glass bottle but he has a plastic thing in it that I can't seem to get rid of the "plastic taste" Does anyone have any suggestions of glass baby bottles that they love?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all your thoughts. I ordered some glass bottles online and love them. I feel so relieved that Will is no longer drinking out of plastic and potentially ingesting harmful chemicals. Thank you all for responding.

I also use the Dr.Browns plastic bottles and I love them. I have no problem with a "plastic taste". I am not even sure if they still sell glass bottles. My daughter is 10 months old and I see how she treats her bottles. I would be afraid of letting her feed herself a glass bottle. If your son is 1 year old he will be off bottles soon anyway. I really wouldn't waste the money buying all new bottles at this stage, maybe find a cup that he really likes and start to make the transition.

I second the recommendation for Evenflo bottles. They are great, very sturdy and inexpensive. I was worried about gas but didn't have a problem.

Evenflo? Evenflow? (I can't recall the exact name) but it's one of the major bottle lines they have plain and simple glass bottles with no plastic anything. My son has been using them since birth ( I pump breastmilk) and they are great. They heat quickly too and clean nicely.

good for you for using glass!

Glass bottles are gaining popularity again...EVENFLO has brought them back. I just saw a 6pack for 14.95 in Babies R Us. I'm sure you can get them on-line as well. Search quickly and try to get your hands on them as they are flying off store shelves. What with all the controversy with plastic bottles lately, I'd want to do glass bottles as well and probably buy all I could get my hands on. In late February, Environment California, an advocacy group, released a report titled "Toxic Baby Bottles" that drew intense national media coverage. Apparently, when heated, five of the most popular brands of polycarbonate -- the clear, shatterproof plastic used in baby bottles -- leaked bisphenol A at levels that have been found to cause harm. If you google the name of the article, I'm sure it will come up.
