Another Ovulation Kit Question

So I became pregnant last month using an ovulation kit and then miscarried :( I don't have to wait to try again because I didn't have to have a D&C. Now I should be ovulating again sometime this week and I have been taking ovulation test again. The kit says that the test is positive when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. So today I took a test and the test line was lighter than the control line except for the edge which was just as dark as the control line. So does that mean I'm ovulating? Or does the entire line need to be as dark or darker than the control line? I guess we could just have sex tonight anyways just to be safe right? haha

With all of my positive OPKs the test line was way darker than the control line when it was a true positive.

I had this problem a lot until I started taking the tests at night. Unlike pregnancy hormones, which peak in the AM, the hormones that make you ovulate peak in the evening. Pee on the stick before bed and see how it goes. (Seriously, I don't know why they don't tell you this on the kit. I must have wasted like $50 taking those tests in the morning). Good luck.

My BBF has been trying for 2 years and spent tons of money on these tests. She finally invested in ones that give you a smiley face vs. the lines. But they are more pricey.... but she says they work so much better and takes the guessing out of it.
However I wanted to mention one thing. I found an article that has some interesting info on when to have sex when testing.

Article-
"One way to determine that you are about to ovulate is to do an OPK. An OPK is an Ovulation predictor kit, which tests the presence of the LH hormone in your urine. LH increases about one to two days prior to ovulation. So when you detect first LH in the urine (a negative test followed by a positive test) then you can expect to ovulate within the next 12-36 or so hours.
However, you are wrong if you schedule making love only after the OPK is positive. In order to get pregnant you must make love before ovulation, preferably 24-48 hours prior to ovulation. So making love only after the OPK is first positive may be too late for conception. The best way to ensure conception is to make love regularly two to three times each week.
In addition, if he has enough sperms it's suggested to make love every day during the five to six fertile days. Your fertile days are the five days prior to ovulation as well as the day of ovulation."

So basically not having sex until you see a positive really isn't smart. I sent her this article this month after 2 years of her having sex only after she saw a positive, and this month she made sure they did it a few times before a positive test and BAM she is pregnant after years of heartache.

So just keep that in mind and good luck!

When I was using these to conceive, I would get the faint lines also. I wasn't sure how to interpret these faint lines .....until I got a dark one. Basically, ignore the faint ones! You will know it when you get a positive one! Good luck!
