Hi Moms! My big brother is turning 50 this year and we wanted to have a big party for him. I was wondering what any of you have done for the big 50. We just want to make it special, he's the oldest and is always helping the rest of us. Any ideas would be great. I am not creative at all, but I am good at organizing things.

What can I do next?

One cool decoration thing is take baby pictures of him to Kincos and use the blueprint machine and blow the pictures up.

Hi Tricia,
I have some great 50th birthday party invitations if you haven't found any yet. My invitation business is listed in the local businesses. Good Times Invitations, Oak Lawn.

Thanks

Hi Tricia,

We just threw a 60th birthday party for my mom. One special thing we did was to ask each invitee to share pictures of themselves with our mom. My brother-in-law scanned in all the pictures and created a DVD that showed the slideshow of pictures with songs playing in the background that my mom loves.

Have fun!

I planned a surprise 50th birthday party for my mom. First we did the family thing, then I told her that I wanted to take her to her favorite restaurant for my gift to her, but when we got to the restaurant there were about 20 of her friends there waiting for her. She really loved that night. It's always fun to surprise people. For my dad's I was thinking about the same type of thing, but having family and friends together and having it at a restaurant that had a banquet room.

Hi! Tricia.

Wow I am going through the same thing right now for my Dad. His party is the 5th and we just invited everyone who ever made a statement in his life and were making it a surprise!!! To make it easier we are catering the party and we just got a keg of beer no hard stuff to limit the expence. The coolest thing about it that we are doing for him is we asked everyone we invited to look for any pictures they may have of them with my Dad or of him doing funny things or whatever and we made a huge picture collage on dvd to play to along to his favorite songs old and new. Its a great keepsake for him and it did take alot of time to do but its soooo cool and we know he'll appreciate it and love it. We plan on running it throughout the party on big screen.

Hope that may give you one cool idea. Hope all goes well!!

Kim
