I have absolutely no ideas for a 16 year old teenager for Christmas! I won't buy her clothes because every time i do, she does not like them. She has already asked for gift cards which i am going to do, but what else can we get for her?

Wow! Awesome ideas! Yes she has her own car already. She has purses, PJ's, perfume, body lotions, make-up, necklaces, earrings.... this kid has everything! I like the idea of a gas card! I will for sure use that one! She has over 100+ DVD's so that one is out. Since she just got her car in September maybe i will get her some CD's so she can use them in her car. Thanks everyone!

I have been there. Can you convince her to go shopping & out to lunch ? Just the two of you. Just remember what she looks at & likes. I still have to do that with my 34 yo daughter. Now I hear "Oh Mom, I really don't need anything". You can never go wrong with music or something for her phone. Good luck

Is she trendy? Sporty? Girly? Punk? Does she enjoy reading, crafts, arts, music?
Just "16 year old girl" is not NEARLY enough info! Lol.
Unless you get her a car... I can pretty much guarantee she would LOVE that... But it's pretty pricy! ;) lol.

My SD is 16 and I had her send me a wish list via e-mail. It contained:

One of my sister's lives in NYC and will use those ideas to get a print or two from a street vendor and we'll have it/them framed. She has good taste so I can see these going with her to college and her first apartment.

Money that will go towards a trip she's taking in February
Gift cards to Target so that she can buy a chaise for her room
On-line shopping is a life-saver - have her send you links to things she wants (clothes, stuff for her room, books, art supplies, make up, whatever she's into) and shop from that list. Don't tell her exactly what you're getting from the list so that there is some element of surprise, but you'll know that she'll want and use whatever you do get.
If you're giving a gift card, why do you feel the need to give something else?

The way I see it, go to a store she likes and buy a few things and wrap them. If she doesn't like them, then go to the store together and exchange them.

A nice keychain. My daughter (18) got a really nice little wallet off Etsy that has an enclosed pocket for the cell phone, zippered area for money, credit cards and id. She can clip her key chain on it and everything is in one place and it has a little wrist handle. Really cute.
jewelry.. depends if she likes jewelry or not. When our daughter was younger we got a couple of nice rings for her (she picked them out) a couple of nice necklaces. For high school graduation, one of her gifs from us was a beautiful David Yurman ring she selected.
Class ring? I think the popularity of these are dwindling but in some areas, they are popular. Our daughter opted not to get one and that is why she ended up with the David Yurman because it is a classic that will never go out of style like a class ring does.
