We are trying to plan our 10 yr wedding anniv. We'd like to go where the water is blue & snorkeIing is plentiful. We'd like to stay over the water in a hut. My budget is $2800. Where do you recommend? We were looking at the Grand Caymen but they don't have those type of accomadations. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
Never been but next year is our 10 & I think the Virgin Islands would be awesome. We are looking into an all-inclusive. You might enlist the help of a travel agent but we've had good luck with Expedia too. Happy Anniversary!
You can usually find the over-water huts in the south pacific - tahiti, bora bora, etc. They are found in more of your exotic locations like that. I'm not sure there are many, if any, closer to home. And the cost to fly to those locations is usually astronomical. Grand Cayman is fantastic. The Keys are great, too. Personally, I would stay away from Mexico. Hope you have a great time. Bora Bora is the cool place with water huts.
Consider places in the Florida Keys. The entire chain is devoted to anything associated with water; snorkeling, diving, fishing, etc. There is an exclusive resort on the near end of Marathon with it's own landing strip. Or, if you like nightlife and people watching, there is Key West. Don't know anything about huts. Beautiful water for snorkeling. And if you're lucky, you'll see the manatees. We swam (for free!) with manatees, dolphins and stingrays.
