What You Didn't Think of When Childproofing

Hi ladies! I have a 9 month old who is not crawling yet....we are trying everything to get him moving but he is just content sitting or laying on the floor with a book or toy and even with no toy at all!! He will just kick his legs and sing away...he is so laid back! So, first of all I'm wondering if anyone has ideas to help him learn to crawl. Second, I am asking if there was one thing or one place that you forgot or over looked when you were child proofing your home. There always seems to be that moment when you realize you should...

Childproofing Under Kitchen Sink - Where Do You Put All That Stuff??

Everything I read about childproofing says that even with the use of safety devices on kitchen cabinets, anything poisonous or sharp should be moved to a height that a baby/toddler can't reach. So where do you keep all of those cleaners that many of us keep under the kitchen sink? I reach for them all the time and am having trouble figuring out where else to keep them where they'll still be accessible. Any ideas?

Unruly 3 Year Old

I wrote a couple of weeks ago and i really need some advise. My 3 year old girl is completely out of control. She does not listen to anyone, she is horribly bratty, and has no regard for anyone else. When we are with other children, she will rip toys away from them, push them, and is ALWAYS the boss. But, she is the first to cry when someone else does something to her that she doesn't like. She has started talking baby talk all the time. It's not an attention thing, because I give her attention 24/7 and try very hard to be patient. ...

3 Year Old Running Away from Me

Any suggestions on how to stop my 3 year old from taking off on me? I'm at my wits end. Today he took off in a parking lot and I was so furious and scared that I spanked him. I've never spanked him before and I feel horrible but he could have been seriously hurt. He knows exactly what he's doing since he turns around and giggles when he's taking off. I also have a baby generally in a stroller or the cart etc. so I can't exactly leave her where we are at to run after him. AURGH!

When Did You STOP Using a Babygate on the Stairs?

Just wondering at what age you stopped needing to use a babygate with the stairs? We have stairs in my townhouse and my 11mo.old who is only crawling right now is starting to notice them so I went and bought a cheap wooden gate for the top of the stairs. I was just wondering if it'd be worth buying a real nice one that you can walk through? I think they are really exspensive and before I buy another baby item I wanted to see how much use most people got out of them. Safety is important but if not needed for to long we can deal with the...
