Thank you ladies! Wow you love her or hate her huh! She is over the top but I like what the mamas said when she takes up for everyone and encourages you to be yourself. I like that. Imo, Madonna not Britney can sing its just the act. Katy and gaga can sing and they may look ridiculous but I love it!

** im 32 and my 4 yr old sings every song on the radio! Plus she can pick out any song her 14 yr old brother likes!

Eeew...no. She wastes all her talent on being a calculated spectacle. I'm willing to bet she didn't get a whole lot of attention as a child. She is obsessed with it now.

Adele, I love her.

I think Lady Gaga is disgusting...didn't watch the VMA's, I'll probably catch it one of the million times that they replay it. She has a good voice, but she sounds far too much like Madonna for me to think she is original.

I seriously HATE her. She is so gross and I think she has a horrible voice. She looks like a guy and needs to grow up and stop acting like a freak.
Now, I LOVE Adele. She is one of my favs. She has real true talent. Same with Alicia Keys. She is just so amazingly talented.

I'm with your husband and I think that Gaga (no lady about her) is a Madonna copy cat and they both are/were a terrible example for all little and/or big girls. Now that Madonna is a parent, she has begun to be a "little" more consertive...not much. The loss of Winehouse wasn't a surprise to anyone and while I truly feel for her family and close friends, I don't think a public tribute was in order. Yes, she had a gift, no she didn't value her gift or set an example for her many young fans.

If she had said YES YES YES to Rehab, she might have been with us today.

Blessings....

I'm 45 and lived through the big Madonna time!! My daughter and I go to tons of concerts together, I don't horrify my 18 year old yet, but Lady Gaga wasn't on my "to do list". I had to work in King of Prussia, PA for two weeks so it was room service and TV that first Friday night, I was exhausted. Came across Lady Gaga at Madison Square Garden and I really, really liked it. I had totally pre-judged her and she and her dancers far exceeded my expectations. She sticks up for those that are different and had many other attributes I really appreciated

I like some of her songs, which is an internal struggle because I don't like her, though she is considerate of her fans and family. I feel like celebrities do just too much for attention and money and that it is the youth who are falling victim to these poor role models, so that is where my issue comes from.

I like a song or two... hello hello, paper gansta, etc. But I wouldn't pay a dime to see her. I feel like she, along with Katy Perry and some others, throw their talent away in a certain aspect with trying to be this spectacle and trying to have as little clothes as possible on. I guess I just don't have respect for how they carry themselves and I think the same way to non-celebrities. Short shorts is one thing but some people and celebs take these things to new heights. I personally cringe when I hear a 5 year old say they love Lady gaga or any of these celebs who aren't the best role models. Some songs are good and deep, but most aren't.

I love her! I think her message to her fans is fantastic - to be yourself no matter what. Is she a little out there? Yup. BUT, it gets her the attention she needs for her platform of acceptance.

I've watched some of her interviews and she's a very intelligent, well spoken young woman. While I don't let my daughters (the oldest is 5) watch her videos yet, we absolutely listen to her music in the van - and I *love* hearing my daughters sing along to "born this way".

LOVE her! There is not one song she has put out that I DON'T like! My spin teacher puts her on her playlists constantly so I have a great association with her that way, too. The crazy outfits are just that, crazy. I laugh at them and move on... in the end it's about her talent and the music, not her get-ups. We could all use a little comic relief these days anyway! LOVE her!

I don't like her music, but I do like HER.

A while ago on the radio they were talking about how she refuses to have anything to do with this one store (I think it was target) because they support anti-gay laws (Something like that). She really sticks up for what she believes in. So, because of that, I like her. However, her music... Not my favorite.

i like lady gaga...and for the record, so does my mother, and so does my 5 year old lol. i have been told i have an "old soul" - i don't "get" the whole dramatic outfits and "shock" factor...to me, good music is good music, why distract from it...seems like a kind of "teen angst" thing to me....i mean like "look at me! look at me! i'm SPECIAL!!"...so....good for her. lol. i guess i'm just not interested in it much. but i really like her music.

Love her! She does a lot to promote tolerance and an end to bullying. When we were at her concert a few months ago, she offered to match any donations made by cell there to the local shelter for gay teens.

I like singers like her who push the envelope. So many artists today are so unoriginal ... they all sound alike.

Ive barely heard any of her music and couldnt tell you when its her singing or someone else. Im not real up on currant music, but have seen her on tv and watched a few interviews of her. I find her odd and "out there". BUT. in the intereviews she is a scared shy, little girl who never feels good enough and is always afraid of being left. Its a rather interesting personality, and when she sits on stage and points out her M. in the front row and tells her how much she loves her, and cries, I cant help but like her. She has great resepct for her father and it impresses me how close they seem. I guess she just has a very wild imagination and the guts to follow thru with dressing and doing the odd things that pop into her head.

I like her and so does my 5yr old son and 11 yr old daughter. They sing along but they aren't old enough to read into her lyrics or understand the meaning behind artists music yet. I think she is over the top but she is like that because if she was just they way she probably wanted to be (more 'normal' and simple) no one would pay her any mind. Bad Romance is exactly about that, the love hate between record company and her. She is a very smart young lady who is very talented and isn't afraid to say how she feels. I love dancing around the house to her music while I clean and I'd love to go see her live!!

PS, I'm 36!!

I like Lady Gaga quite a bit. I think she is very talented. She puts on a show. I bet if you went to her concert you would get your moneys worth. It's especially refreshing that there is a wave of pop, her, Adell, Katy Perry, Beyonce that I don't have to turn off when my kids are in the car. No bad language or obvious vulgarity. It's good to have songs my kids can sing along with and I don't have to cringe! They are also empowering for women. It's a nice break from the masogyny of hiphop.

I like Lady GaGa but then again I am in a different music generation than some of the mothers on here. I am 21 so I like the newer "hipper?" singers. Example:
Lady Gaga
Katy Perry
Nicki Minaj
Rihanna
Eminem etc...
I like songs that make you want to get up and move

I LOVE her too... My favorite is Bad Romance - the beat, the hook, something about it - it's my all time Favorite. I wasn't too hip to Born this Way, still hasnt really grown on me.. Edge of Glory has gotten better with me. Poker Face and Bad Romance seem to be the all time favs in my house. My father even LOVES Bad Romance. he jams out to it. LOL... As far as the artist goes... as long as they're not killing things, freaky people, who cares what they wear or the dramatics. but uh, can we keep it not so INSANEY... I could use that meat you're wasting!!. eh... Better than boring.. I love Brittney's music too.

And that episode on Howard Stern Show - where she plays the piano and sings Edge of Glory - really worth seeing... incredible..

I didn't see the show. I used to hate Lady Gaga until I heard her sing a stripped down, acoustic version of one of her songs on the Howard Stern show. Not only was her voice amazing (at 7:00 in the am) but she also told in great detail the story of how she wrote that particular song. It was about her grandmother dying. The song literally brought tears to my eyes ("I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment of truth," beautiful lyric in context of the grandmother). Ever since hearing that song, and also hearing that interview, I have been a somewhat of a fan, but personally I don't get too excited about the dance versions of her songs. You can probably find the acoustic one I described on youtube or something. It's definitely worth searching for!
I do think she has some mental issues but who among us doesn't? Her over-the-top outfits and makeup are clearly costumes and masks. I don't think that is necessarily "being herself" I think i'ts more like she's hiding herself, and I don't think that is healthy. But she is one hell of a singer.

I like a few of her songs. I think they are great to work out to. =)
So I wouldn't say i'm a big "fan" but I also don't mind her. Nothing she does bugs me. I don't think she's any more over the top then Jim Morrison, Kiss or Ozzy, just in a different way.
I actually liked Amy Winehouse. I had a few friends roll their eyes at that, but their dislike was based on her appearence, what they heard in the news or on E! about drug use, etc. Fact is, I liked her voice, and style of singing. So I can't wait to see the tribute.
I haven't watched it yet (only the opening), I will be catching up with it tomorrow. =)
