My daughter will be 9 months old on 8/17 and she has no theeth yet! Not even a sign of one yet! I know all children are different, but I'm just curious to hear when other babies started getting their teeth.

What can I do next?

My daughter was almost 10 mo before he first tooth appeared! I never knew it was there until it was in! (Incidentally, she is now almost 7 (in 2 weeks) and just finally lost her first tooth!)
My second daughter got them at 8 mo! It's different for everyone! Don't worry about it!

The age varies, some get them as early as 5 mos. or some as late as
15 months. This is all within the normal limits.

My grandniece, who turned one in May, didnt' have a single tooth on her first birthday. Two months later, she had seven. Your baby may just get a whole bunch at once.

N.,
It can take up to a year. the later it happens the happier the dentist is, I understand, because brushing habits for final teeth are well in place when they do. : ) If it goes much beyond 12-14 months, talk to your pediatrician, but DON'T opt for xrays, hon, bc all radiation is cumulative (for everyone) and worse for babies.

Good luck!

My Jacob was about 5 months old when he got his first tooth--I think that's really early though. From reading the posts sounds like you don't have anything to worry about.

My daughter got her 1st tooth at 4.5 months, but she was really early. I didn't get my first tooth until I was a year, but her dad was an early teether. I wouldn't worry, all kids are different.

My son didn't get any teeth till his first birthday. He turned one and got two upper teeth within a week after. And then two more.
He is now six and all his teeth are in place:) Now he is developing molars, and has just lost his first tooth - everything according to schedule. You may want to ask your doctor if you are worried, but I was told by a dentist that they see it sometimes that babies get their first teeth around 12 months.
Good luck!

My daughter got her first tooth at 11 months old, 2 weeks before her first birthday. My son got two teeth at the same time at 7 months. Either way is totally normal.

My son started at 4 months and had all except his second set of molars by 13 months. My daughter just got her first at over 9 months and doesn't seem to have any others coming anytime soon!

My daughter had her first tooth at three months. My grandkids all had them come in at different times. if you are truly worried then make an appointment with a Pediatric Dentist and they can tell from an X-Ray if there is an issue.

A pediatric Dentist is a specialist in baby teeth, not a family dentist. They are trained in dealing with baby teeth and all that goes with that. Here is a google link to pediatric dentists in Rochester NY.

Not to worry!! My daughter was the same exact way - she didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 months and is now 2 and has an almost full set of teeth. I was as concerned at you were, but my pediatrician assured me that it was okay. She simply said that if she didn't have any by the time she was 2, then we could worry.

My son was about 9 1/2 months old when he got his first teeth (all four front teeth at once!). I also know a mom whose son is just now getting his first teeth at 14 months old. One way or another, your daughters teeth will get here eventually!

Yes, all children are different and I have heard that the longer they take to come out the stronger they are. You can have a dentist check to make sure there is no problem. Grandma Mary

"They" say the longer it takes for a child's 1st tooth or teeth to come in the stronger they will be. Which lends itself to the thought that they'll be healthier in the long run.

My oldest didn't cut his 1st tooth til he was 9m and my daughter was 9 1/2m old before her 1st tooth came in.

Concerned, as you are now, when my son was about 6m, I asked my mother if she recalled when I started cutting my teeth and she told me around 9m...I've had a few cavities, just recently started going back to the dentist regularly and everything is great, didn't even have pain or have to get my wisdom teeth extracted when they came in...so maybe there is some truth to what "they" say LOL...I wouldn't worry...good luck

My daughter didn't get teeth until she was 11 months and then all four front teeth came in at the same time. One of my twin sons got his first tooth at 4 months, so even within the family, my kids were really different.
