Twitter - Wallingford,CT
How do you use twitter? Is it like facebook or different from FB? Do you friend people or just follow subjects that you find interesting?

When you sign up to follow someone every time they post something you get a message about it.
Personally I don't care what some famous person had for lunch or what color their shoes are or.... To me it's really dumb ----- no one is that important.

I have yet to see what all the hoopla is about myself. I hope you get some good answers. I have a twitter acct, but it seemed pretty lame to me.... but maybe because I don't know what I'm doing.
I would like it if twitter could help me look for a job tho, since I'm sick of mine right now.

I tried to make myself get into Twitter, but just find it to be VERY annoying. Whereas FB can be used to build relationships quite effectively, Twitter so far seems to be just about self-promotion. I'm not a fan, but you can follow me @ QueenoftheCastle (just kidding--I closed my Twitter account after a few days of activity.)

Twitter is kind of like facebook, except anyone can follow you and see what you're saying, unless you privacy lock it so that you have to approve it. I use it to follow people celebrities who crack me up, like Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day. I can also follow things like the avengers and castle the tv show and get updates on what's going on with filming and when they're coming out and stuff.

It's different from FB in that you don't "friend" people, you follow them. When someone you follow posts (tweets) you see it in your continual feed. I use Twitter more for news outlets and other organizations that are of interest to me (psychology, health, science, and technology-based information). Other people use Twitter to follow their favorite musicians or movie stars or politicians. A tweet can be just a comment, but the places/people I follow typically include a link to an article that I can read.
I use Twitter for another "news feed" source, but it can be used much like Facebook to communicate with friends and family and to link to pictures and other things. I just find uploading pictures to FB to be easier. I also use FB to communicate with my group of women friends in a private group. I don't know how to do that with Twitter, it seems that everything tweeted is seen by everyone who is following you, and there's not an option that I know of to tweet to just a certain group.
