Tweens are from the ages of 9-12.

Read it. It is beneficial, for your sake and your child.

Your question made me laugh. It's a marketing word, for sure. Good test: If she has a picture of the Jonas brothers on her wall and there are lip prints over any one of said brothers' faces, then she's a tween.
I used to teach Jr. High and I think this age is superfun, nothing to be scared of. Enjoy it, you'll laugh a LOT.

IMO tween does not exist. It is a new term. Pre-teen is 12 yo, maybe 11.
Before that you are a kid.
A., tween is a trendy made up word. It doesn't matter if your daughter is a tween now or going to be a tween next year. She is the age that she is. What is it that you're scared of? If you're referring to the changes that happen during puberty, being called a tween doesn't make that happen. Puberty can begin at 8 for some girls, at 12 for other girls and the term "tween" wont' dictate when that happens for your own daughter. What difference does it make if she is a "tween"? There is nothing special about that word or anything that has to go along with it.

I think "tween" starts at the age of 11. I could be wrong. All I know is that it's before they turn 13. This is something new to me w/i the last year.
