Unmotivated 16 Year Old

My 16 year old daughter is very smart, but is very unmotivated to complete her school work, therefor seems to be running a C average in almost everything. I speak to her teachers who say she 'drifts off' in class. She often gets zeros for homework she 'does not feel like doing'. I realize a C average is not the end of the world, but I know she is capable of more and would like her to be able to go to college. I have taken away privliges, offered incentives, etc, and she says she will do better, and may for a very short time, then its back...

Extended Breastfeeding Anyone?

Just out of curiosity... how many mamapedia mama's have nursed their little one past the age of one and what are some of the responses you have gotten? (Not that it would change my mind about happily breastfeeding my beautiful, healthy 13 month old, 25 pound, 31 inch tall little boy with no intentions of weaning anytime soon:-) Just feels like I'm an alien sometimes with the looks and comments people often give! (Especially now that he asks for "Booby":-)

17 Year Old Wanting to Spend Way Too Much Time with His Girlfriend!

I need some advice before I do something drastic to hurt my relationship with my 17 year old son! He has had a girlfriend for 6 months now (he is 17, she is 15) and they spend way too much time together. I do know her parents, and am surprised how much time they allow the kids to spend together. They are great parents, but my son is at her house all the time. I want him home more. I told him he has to be home 2 nights a week, but he always makes sure those nights fall when it is impossible for them to be together. I feel like she...

What is the next best thing to drinking water. My youngest son never like the taste of water. Now he is almost 17 and still doesn't drink water. He's always had problems with constipation since he was little. For the past two months, he has been having alot of stomach problems and had numories tests ( colonsocopy, upper GI Endoscopy, blood work and nothing is coming up wrong. So what else can he drink besides water that is good for him and that will do the same as water does to your system?

Thinking About Weaning

I am thinking of weaning my 12 month old daughter. I don't really mind that she is still nursing but it is embarassing when we are in public and she pulls on my shirt. Also, I feel bad when friends and family say, "You're not still nursing, are you?" When do I know when is the right time? Should I wait for her to stop on her own or stop when I feel ready? She is only nursing once or twice during the day and twice at night. The day nursings would be easy to break but I am very worried about the night nursings because it helps get her back to...
