My Husband and I want to start the process of me having a reversal done.I have not talked to any doctor about this yet.So I am wanting to know where to get started.Do I make an appoint with my OB or with a fertility specialist?I am feeling very nervous and overwhelmed, yet excited at the same time. And I am also afraid of being judged by the OB,family, and friends. My Husband says it's no big deal that people change their minds all of the time. But I don't have a timid personality.Any of you that have been through this willing to share your stories?Give advise?Tell me where to start?Any thing you can offer is appreciated!

I would go directly to the infertility specialist. I would recommend Dr Dan Gehlbach by Olathe Med center. He is really good at what he does.

My sil had a tubal and they wanted more kids but because bil had cancer they opted to go the invitro route so that the embryos could be screened for problems due to bil going thru chemo.

In vitro is very expensive and h*** o* mom. You have to take injections to get the eggs ready, have to get them harvested, fertilized, more injections to get your body to accept a fertilized egg(s) and then wait and see if it works. You are looking at around 25-30,000 easy.

I'm sure a reversal wouldn't cost that much. You would need to start with a gyn appointment and discuss the risks, the procedure itself and costs. Then go from there. Good luck!

Haven't been through this but I can tell you that you shouldn't worry about what other people think at all, I know easier said than done. This is what you and your husband want and that is all that matters. I do have my tubes tied, that is what was best for us then but I didn't sign anything saying I couldn't change my mind :-) The doctors probably do this more often than we know so don;'t worry about that. I think this is very exciting, enjoy this journey!

i have a tubal also and have wondered at the process. sorry can't help there. but i have wondered if it would just be easier and cheaper (if you only want one more child) to just go to a fertility dr and have them implant a fertilized egg. you know? i don't know if you would be more prone to having tubal pregnancies with a reversal. sorry couldn't help more. just a thought about the implantantion.

I have my tubes tied too and my 1st thought was you need to find out what they did. Don't they do more than tie them, like burn the tubes? I would think you would need to talk to someone but I don't know how you find out that information. Good luck and don't worry what people think you can't live your life worrying about what anyone other than what you and your hubby feel is right.
