Is There Pregnancy After a Tubal??
I had a tubal (the clips) done 2 years ago after my daughter was born.. I have an 8 year old son and 2 year old daughter. I am happy with my children and didnt want anymore. But, as luck would have it, I got a divorce and started over again. I am involved and have been for over a year with a man that doesnt have any children of his own, but would like to. I have looked into reversal and it is very expensive. What my question is... Is it possible to still get pregnant having the clips?? What are the chances and does it happen?? I have heard a few stories but dont know for sure if they are just legend or actual truth.. Thanks ahead of time for any info you have and would like to share..

Everyone seems so concerned about how you can get pregnant again, but have you thought about the two beautiful children you've already made with another man. How do you think they are going to feel if you make another baby with someone else? They're already going through more than you may realize with losing their family to divorce.

I would say your best option would be in-vitro fertilization. As long as you still have ovaries, that's a great option if you have the money.

I have been a labor and delivery nurse for 9 years. I have taken care of one patient that was pregnant with a tubal. I have taken care of many who have had tubal reversals done. I would say the tubal reversal would be cheaper and much less invasive than in vitro. Just some thoughts. Good Luck

Hi A.,
I too went through a divorce, but before that, had 3 beautiful children with my EX, and had my tubes tied. At any rate, I met my husband and he didn't have any children of his own, but wanted one. SO...we opted for a tubal reversal (I went to Dr. Berger in Chapel Hill, NC...he is EXCELLENT!!!) Since the reversal in April 04, we got preggo the first month and miscarried in May, then got preggo again immediately after, and now have a 2.5 year old son. Then, as luck would have it, got preggo AGAIN and had our baby daughter in August 06. So, the reversal DEFINITELY worked X2...and we now feel as though our family is COMPLETE! I would definitely recommend Dr. Berger, as he only specializes in reversals and does several per day. The care through Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is superb and it wasn't as expensive as you would think; as well as, they have a payment plan that you can set aside money for the surgery with. Good Luck, and btw, the clips are one of the easiest to repair and have one of the highest success rates with reversals!

I have a friend that did the same thing and she was not able to get pregnant, she decided she wanted one more also, but instead she adopted.
The only thing i would suggest is to look in to your medical ins. And see what it would cost to get them taken out/removed or the other option would be is to adopt, which i know that is quit expensive too.

Hi, I actually had a tubal done after I had my son in 1997, I then remarried and we checked all of our options, we went to a great doctor in Bedford at the Center for assisted reproduction, her name is Anna Nackley, the website is www.embryo.net. I had a tubal reversal done in 2/2005 and was pregnant by 7/2005 and we had our son in 3/2006. If you only have the clips the success is much higher to have that reversed and is alot less expensive. We went to her and she gave us our options before we had the procedure done. I would recommend meeting with someone before you make a choice, we had doctors tell us that the only option we had was invetro which cost alot more. Please email me with any questions. I hope this helps!! ____@____.com luck!!!

I've worked in the infertility field. It is possible to get pregnant again but you might need the help of a medical professional. They say it can take up to 2 years after reversing the tubal to get pregnant if you are going to get pregnant. Again if you decide for the tubal reversal I would highly suggest you talk to an infertility doctor.

lol...actually i had the same thing done after i had my daughter. the odds are 1 in 200...so not too great but it is possible. u would be more likely to get pregnant with artificial insemination...or whatever the correct term is.
