Swim Lessons in Ofallon

My 3 1/2 year old son loves the water and we moved into a neighborhood this year that has a swimming pool, so I would like to find swimming lessons for him before the summer gets here. Does anyone know of any good places for swim lessons in the Ofallon area. We are not a part of a gym and I would like to not have to join one just for him to be able to take lessons. I just have no idea where to look. Any suggestions would be helpful.

What can I do next?

I have had great success with the lessons at the Renaud Spirit Center. Go in with a bill and a driver's license to get your resident card. Then the lessons are very reasonably priced. You don't have to join the Spirit Center. The indoor pool is comfortable temps for the kids, the teachers are great and the lessons are generally twice a week for six weeks. Check out their website.

FYI, you can take lessons at the YMCA without being a member, you just pay more for the lessons.

Hi J.:

I am not from the O'Fallon area, but you may want to check with a community center (civi center) if you have one in your area. If you do not have one in O'Fallon then you could check the surrounding areas. My son attended swimming lessons at the community center in our area and they offered a price for residents and a little higher of a price for non-residents.

The Renaud Spirit Center is GREAT - heated indoor pool, no membership required, free towels while you're there, and family locker room. That's where my daughter went. Have fun!

The Renaud Spirit Center (the city's fitness/rec center) is actually a lot cheaper than the YMCA and they were fantastic with my 2-year old (it was a mommy-and-me class). Check them out: www.renaudspiritcenter.com.
