Suggest Webpage Design Software?

Can you recommend a computer program that I could buy to get my business' website going? I don't have much web design experience, but I do know a bit about computers and graphic design in general. We are a small architecture firm and we just need a page or two for our clients to view when they go to our web address (instead of a generic "under construction" page). Thanks!

FrontPage, by Microsoft which, to me, is the easiest to use if you are familiar with the office suite. I have also used Adobe Dreamweaver, which to me, is a bit more complicated, but you do get a good product. There are several free utilities online through Google, Weebly, and Webpage Maker. You could always start with a free one and build up to one of the others. Good Luck!

Depending upon who is hosting your site, many have easy-to-use software packages for you to use. For example, GoDaddy has "Website Tonight." It has a simple interface. Yahoo also has the same setup. Check them out.

Depending upon the quality look you are seeking and just how much of your money and time you wish to invest in handling your site? If it's a one-time, general info page, I could help you or make some recommendations based on your needs. I design sites out of my home and am extremely reasonable. I'd be happy to simply offer advice.

DW & FP software are designed for people who are dedicated to website design...People who use frontpage but are not advanced website programmers generally have trouble getting their site compatible on any browser besides IE...the opposite holds true for Dreamweaver, things will generally run fine on any browser besides IE. If you don't know CSS you are wasting your money with Dreamweaver.

If all you need is an "under construction page", then I wouldn't waste my money on any of the high end software. I would recommend software to you but the software to recommend depends on what operating system you use. If you need a professional looking website, I recommend hiring a professional...it is cheaper than buying high end software and they will do it fast and better than the novice.

Good luck!

Microsoft Live Small Business and Weebly both offer free website building and I found them to be pretty good. Microsoft even has a online booklet to help you move forward.

L. I don't know anything about design software. However, I am currently using someone to help with the design of my website. She also designed my logo for me. I really liked her work, but more importantly she is VERY reasonable on pricing. I shopped around a lot before I found her and have been very pleased with her. Her name is Jerilyn Gover you can email her at ____@____.com or call her at ###-###-####. She is a fellow mommy and runs her business from home.

Hi L.,

I work for an I.T. company that specilizes in Small Businesses. I'm not sure of a software that you can get for your website. But if you ever need any maintenance or need someone to do your website we'd love to help. We can even come to you.
