Use tweezers to pull it out straight up. If you can't get a hold of it with tweezers then use a needle to dig it out. You can numb the area somewhat with ice. Ask an adult for help.

Girl - you should NOT be asking random strangers this question. You SHOULD be asking your mom or dad or both.

If it's deep - then you need them to take you to the doctor to have it removed and get shots just in case it's NOT a wood splinter but a nail or piece of metal.

Good luck!

My hubby, the splinter whisperer says to soak to your foot in hot water with epson salt (available at WalGreens, WalMart, and pretty much anywhere). You don't want to dig it out, as that will cause more pain in the long run. Good luck!! Oh, and if you feel a little of it poking out of the foot, wait a while for it work out more then try to extract it.

If you or your parents can't get it out, you need to go to a doctor asap.

I'd take it to a doctor or an urgent care.
They can numb it up when they dig it out (a little Novocaine works wonders).
And they can give you a booster tetanus shot.
You might need an antibiotic in order to avoid infection if it goes in that deeply.
Once it's out, it'll heal up quickly.
As long as it's in there you will have pain (and walking on it might drive it further into your foot) and you will be susceptible to infection.
Where did you get the splinter?
The deck? Outside? Any where where animals/birds might have pooped?
This is one way to pick up parasites.
You can get hook worms by going bare foot.
Tell your parents, get to a doctor and get it over with.

I don't know if this works, just read this tip the other day, haven't tried it yet. Put a piece of tape over it and pull it out. I know, sounds way to easy. Obviously there has to be a piece of it sticking out. Try the soaking idea first, then this. I usually go the old fashioned route with my kids, tweezers.

Your feet are very susceptible to infections for a lot of different reasons so an infection can occur very quickly. Please don't wait. It's better to take care of this now. Is it red? Sensitive to the touch? Hot to the touch? Oozing plasma (clear watery fluid) and/or pus rather than just blood and plasma? If you can say yes to any of this then get to a doctor. When it's that bad, you need to go straight to your parents. INSIST to your parents on seeing a doctor. You may need some shots when you get it out.

I find it odd that a pre-teen is calling herself a pre-teen. If you are a child you should be talking to your parents or a trusted adult about medical stuff --not a bunch of strangers on the internet (no matter how nice we are!).
