There is a mother of 3 young children in Arlington whose husband is serving in Iraq (he’s in my husband's unit) whose apartment burned down last night. She is left with a few articles of clothing and 2 air mattresses (provided by the Red Cross). She does have a place to stay and needs help with a few items. Below is a list of some of her needs, if you would like to help please let me know.

Clothing:
6 year old boy – size 6
2 year old boy – size 2T
2 month old girl – infant
Mother – size 16 (pants) M-L shirts

They also need other items for the apartment:
living room items
dining room items
kitchen items
bath items
bedroom items (they have a crib for the baby & 2 air mattresses)

So What Happened?

Hey everyone...thanks so much! The outpouring of generosity is truly a blessing! Yesterday we had a local builder step forward & donate a house-full of furniture. There are a ton of private donations coming in that we are very thankful for. Thank you all so much & God Bless!!

She needs to got to Mission Arlington, or got on Freecycle if a freind can do that for her. Or craigslist offers freestuff too.

You may also want to look into that angelfood missions website. If you need a link, let me know. I saw it on another thread here, and they can get good food for just $25! I checked it out last night and asked about a situation with some friends of ours. I don't know what requirements they have, but it would be good to get them some good food.

Danielle-

I have matching Mission-style coffee and end table, 2 if she wants them. Currently I own a 3-2-2 in Bedford, which I am trying unsuccessfully to sell. Would she be interested in a short-term (or month to month) lease? It is a very nice neighborhood w/in walking distance of Bell Manor Elementary, HEB school district.

Either way, below is my cell number. I teach high school, so some weeks I don't get personal calls returned quickly, but I'll follow up if you/she calls.

Bless her heart,
A.

This lady needs to get intouch with her husband's command and they will be able to help. I don't know how things work in the Army (you said soldiers wife) but in the Marine Corps there are relief societies and organiztions that will help. I am not sure where the nearest Army base is but I am sure there will be a lot of help for her there.

There is a local organization called Adopt a Soldier (started by Janet Brady) that may be able to help too. You can refer to her MySpace account at http://www.myspace.com/adoptasoldier for more information.
