Hi, I am not really new to the area but live outside of the PHV area. We have not really bothered to find a church b/c it was so far away. We live in Reilingen........but now we know we need to find one. I know there is one on PHV but it is Catholic from what I understand. I am looking for Baptist or Methodist denomination preferably. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

Hello neighbor! I also live in Reilingen and would love to meet some other moms in the area. If you are interested, give me a call. ###-###-####. I have two boys - 2 and 3 - and drive to post about 4 days a week for various things. Maybe we could carpool (I have a van).

As for the church stuff... the chapel and PHV and at MTV both have Catholic AND Protestant services. The PHV chapel has protestant sevices Sundays at 8:30 and 10:00 - child care offered at both. There is also Grace Baptist church in Lieman (I think) that is in English and is popular with the American crowd. Both chapels offer MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and both MTV and PHV have PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel). The PHV PWOC is held on Tuesday mornings at the Chapel and is a nice way to get involved, meet women, and get closer to God. I go every week and would be happy to pick you up if you wanted to try it out. There is also free child care at PWOC (can you tell I'm all about free child care?).

The PHV chapel just got a new Chaplin and he seems really nice, funny, and very down to earth. He has been there only a couple of weeks. I am pretty sure I will be going there this Sunday with my husband and two kids, if you wanted to join us we would be happy to have you come with us.

Would love to meet for coffee, tea, or just mom time, if you are interested.

A.

WE are in England however we are affiliated with the Church of God Ministry to the Military. Below is a website to a MTTM in the Heildelburg area. MTTM centers are nondenominational and I know in our center we have poeple from various denominational backgrounds. Check it out it may be where God wants you to be. Good Luck!

The chapel on PHV is non-denominational. It holds a Catholic service and a Protestant service, and they have a PWOC group, as does the chapel on MTV. There are several Churches that are off-post as well. Pick up a copy of the Herald-Post and they have a page that lists some of the Churches that are off-post, I know a couple of them are in the Leimen area. Good luck, I hope you find one that works for you.

Grace International Baptist Church is just a few minutes away, in Leimen. It's in a former car dealership in the industrial area, so the facilities are really great, with plenty of free parking. They have AWANA from preschool through at least 6th grade (on Sunday afternoons, I think I read somewhere). The address is Lubeckerstrasse 9, 69181 Leimen, and there are small signs off the main streets.

It's an LDS Military service (for the military families there) and starts at 9:00. They're great people and are sure to welcome you warmly.
