I would really like to find a church home. I was raised Methodist, but truthfully, only really remember going to Bible School and going to church mostly on the holidays. I would very much like to find a church home for MY family. I am completely open to all faiths. I am 34 and my husband is 35.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for your responses. I am going to consider them all and find our church home. My husband has been out of town on business for two weeks and this is why my reply is a little late. I am sure I will be in touch with questions. I love this website! Thank you again!!!

You could try Van Dyke United Methodist. www.vandyke.org It's off of Lakeshore near the back of Northdale.

L. P. my husband and I go to The Crossing. It is wonderful. Its non-denominational Christian, so we believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and with him comes salvation. We have a great kids wing, where they have the children split into ages and the rooms are decorated and painted to encourage socialization, as well as education. For adults we have everything from regular Sunday service to programs during the week and small groups which meet once a week in your area. We have women's retreats to Orlando and men's retreats to Jacksonville. We also are available to watch online first if you'd like. I'll give you link below and you can check it out, and past sermons. I hope to see you there and if you want to meet up there just let me know. God Bless.

PS: If this is too far try Idlewild they're phenominal too!

Hello L. :) I'm happy to recommend "Grace Family Church" located on Van Dyke Rd (off N. Dale Mabry) Very nice, down to earth church with a wonderful choir and youth group - just look for the beautiful angels that hang above the building next to the church ;)

Hi L.! I live in the Carrollwood/Forest Hills area. I go to Centerpointe Community Church in Temple Terrace. It is about 20 minutes from my house. It is an awesome church that is really focusing on the Next Generation (our little ones). The children's church is wonderful. I teach in The Zone which is geared for 1st - 5th grade. Then we have The Promiseland for newborn to Kindergarten. Finally for 6th-12th grade we have Frequency. Our church is in the process of being remodeled and has gone through tremendous changes, which have turned out great!!!! We are a non-denomination church and welcome everyone! My husband has been going there almost his entire life and I started going with him 10 years ago when we began dating. I'm so glad to be a part of the ministry at Centerpointe Community Church. Check out our website: http://pointe.centerpointecommunity.com/. Hope to see you there!

I attend Grace Family Church on Van Dyke Road. It is a non-denominal fellowship church focused on serving families. Both my husband and I were raised Catholic and have found this congregation to be very nurturing spiritually and supportive in times of trouble. Check it out.

I've also heard great things about Van Dyke Methodist on Lakeshore Dr (?) if you are more comfortable with that.

Grace Family Church is a wonderful place. Its on Lutz Lake Fern, between Dale Mabry and the Veterans. They have a great Sat. Night service at 7pm and afterwards have a food/band gathering on the outside courtyard. And their kids program is impressive. Its a great place for families!

Hi L.
We go to Calvary Chapel which is a bible based church and we love it! :) We currently meet at the Learning Gate School @ 16215 Hanna Rd in Lutz until we finish building our church which will be on Livingston. We started going to Calvary in Ft. Lauderdale until we moved to Tampa 7 years ago. Calvary Chapel started in Costa Mesa California and they are all over the United States. Our service starts @ 10:30 on Sunday and we also have nursery for your little girl. Come as you are and worship with the Lord!
GOD BLESS and have a great day.

Well for that area I'd recommend St. Paul Catholic, which is my church, or if you want to stick to a Methodist Church, Lake Madeline Methodist is a good church from what I hear. St. Paul is very friendly and family oriented. I've met some very nice and caring people there. Family service is 9:00 on Sunday.

Good luck with your search and I hope you give us a try.

Hi L.,
I go to Grace Lutheran Church on Dale Mabry and Linebaugh. I have only been a member for about a year and my husband a joined a few months after having my daughter Alexa who is almost 17 months. I grew up Lutheran but my husband did not. After trying several churches in Tampa I really felt comfortable at Grace. It has a very friendly pastor and congregation, many activities, and a diverse group of people. they have a lot of young families with a nursery and sunday school available. I had my daughter baptized there and am really glad we became members. Please feel free to contact me for more info. I am also a first time mom and am currently staying at home with her.
Hope this helps!

Hi L. -

I recommend St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Lutz (on Lakeshore, just off Van Dyke). It's wonderful! I attended for a few years before converting (my husband's a "cradle" Catholic), and my decision to convert was largely because of the people there at St. Tim's. It's a modern church (no kneelers!) and I love the pastor (Father Paddy). You can check out their website at www.sainttims.org
