Seeking OB/GYN That Delivers at Highland Park Hospital (And Accepts CIGNA HMO)

Hey mamas!

A friend of mine is about 8 weeks pregnant with her first and will be going through an insurance switch during her pregnancy to CIGNA HMO. She will deliver her baby at Highland Park Hospital but since her current OB/GYN does not take CIGNA HMO, she is looking to switch docs now rather than half way through her pregnancy(stressful for sure). Can someone please help me out with a referral to a great OB/GYN in the Deerfield/Highland Park area that delivers at Highland Park Hospital, especially if you know of one that takes HMOs....if you don't know about the insurance issue but have a great Doc or Group name to share- we can do our own investigation on the insurance! Very much appreciated for my friend -- the new mama-to-be!

Thanks mamas!

Dr. Tyler, he is the best. He has offices in Vernon Hills, Deerfield and Highland Park. The office number is ###-###-####. I switched to him at 8 months pregnant, and he has been my doctor ever since. Good luck.

I delivered both my sons at HP. My doc is Brenda Kim. She is so nice and always willing to answer any questions. She is with Northshore Women's Health Assoc ###-###-####. I have had a great experience with all the doctors in the practice. Plus, they have Saturday hours :)

Dr. Lamar Tyler is through North Shore Healthcare System and delivers at Highland Park Hospital. I had some complications with my pregnancy and delivery and he was AWESOME! I'm not sure about insurance, but as you said, you can investigate that! Good luck!

I don't know what insurance he accepts, but Edward Lee is a good doctor that delivers at HP. There are two women in the practice as well if your friend feels more comfortable with that.

Hi A.,

I just started going to my new OB/GYN in June. I transferred to her because my previous OB/GYN is not performing deliveries anymore. So far so good.
Dr. Goldberg works out of Evanston and Glenview.
Her office is accross the street from Evanston Hospital.
I'm not sure about Cigna but she does accept HMO insurance.

I really like Northshore Womens Health and Dr. Becker has been my OBGYN for at least 15 years. I have seen the other docs in the practice during my 3 pregnancies and I like all of them. I don't know about the insurance. They have offices in the building attached to HP hospital as well as an office in Long Grove. Good Luck.

I would second Dr. Lee. as a birth doula I have work with him and all the Dr.s in his practice and they all are good Dr's. they are very supportive of what you want and are open to both a natural birth or a medicated one, depending on your wishes!

I've heard good things about a couple of midwife/doctor group practices there. One is Dr. Daube's practice, and the other is Drs. Cannon, Cardone, Carpenter and Murphy (all women OBs with 2 midwives, I think, Shari Haney and Patty Schneider).
