My OB/GYN is wonderful but leaving Chicago and I am left to find someone new, mid-pregnancy. I am sad, feeling I can never replace this person who is incredibly warm, smart, responsive and all-around great. I would really appreciate a recommendation for a kind and knowledgeable OB, not only for this pregnancy but issues that could follow and all future exams. I am bummed to say the least! Thanks a lot.

I love my Dr., she is kind & caring & delivered both of my children (she even allowed me to do a V-back). She has been my OB/GYN for 20 years. Her name is Dr. Janice Johnson of North Shore Women's Health. She is located at 10024 Skokie Blvd., in Skokie (just north of Old Orchard Shopping Mall). Her # is ###-###-####. Don't worry about the 224 area code, they ran out of 847 #'s. She was originally with another womens group & then opened her own office about a year ago.

Wow! I was also going to recommend Debi and Gaye! I have recommended several to their office, all of whom have loved them and/or the docs there if they needed that OB care too.

I used Dr. Lisa Loehrke-Sichhart and loved her. I was going to another OB in her office whom I just sort of liked, and when she couldn't see me one day, I was scheduled with Dr. Loehrke. Liked her so much I stayed with her for the rest of the pregnancy. She's affiliated with the NorthShore Medical Group and has office hours both in Lincolnwood and Skokie. She has hospital privileges at Evanston Women's Hospital, at which I had an awesome delivery experience.

I switched at 34 weeks from an OB at NorthWestern, to midwives Debbie Lesnick and Gaye Koconis. 1-###-###-#### They are right next to Evanston hospital and can deliver there or at St. Francis. I had an amazing experience with them, see them for routine care right now, and will be having my second with them as well. They are low key (not alarmists)and very warm, caring and capable.

C.,
I love my OB/GYN she delivered our son and has been with us thru secondary infertility as well. She is very experienced and has a practice of 5 other OB's...all very experienced as well. The only time I saw another Dr. was when she was out of town. Her office is directly across from Northshore Evanston Hospital. She is truly a gift and happens to live in my community and is someone I like to greet out of the office as well. Her # ###-###-####. Her nurse is Mary Sue and she is the person you will talk to prior to meeting with Dr. Carol Cislak. Another plus...you won't be meeting a new nurse every other time.

Best wishes!
Tell her Liam's mom sent you!

If really liked delivering at ENH in Evanston, which is now Northshore. I have seen Dr. Lisa Loehrke http://www.northshore.org/apps/findadoctor/doctor.aspx?do... and Dr. Charla Simon. Both are very smart and capable. I like Dr. Loehrke's bedside manner a bit more. Nothing is wrong with Dr. Simon, mind you. Both have offices in Skokie and Lincolnwood.

I delivered naturally and had no pressure to use drugs or have a C-section despite having a problematic delivery (baby stuck and facing the wrong direction). I was given the options for each way of solving the delivery issues and the possible impact of the decisions. I felt well-informed despite being in a stressful situation (and my first child).

As you can see there are many choices out there. A lot of it depends on what kind of birth you are looking for. Midwives work with Dr's so you can have the best of both worlds and low key environment but with a Dr. around " just in case" Deb and Gaye are great and the Dr's that back them up are great as well

C.,

I've seen Dr. Chimene Pellar at Partners in Women Care (near Evanston Hospital) and I like her. You sometimes have to wait for your appointment in the office, but their phone system is really good. It's all women practitioners, and everyone is always really nice.

Best of luck,
R.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ian Jasenof. He's in Glenview though.....right across the street from ABT Appliances. I had three C-sections, he performed two of them. He has an excellent bedside manner and is super friendly with the kids!

I use Debi Lesnik -- fabulous FABULOUS FABULOUS. Can not say enough good things about her and her entire staff she is part of. There is another great midwife there as well (forgot name) and she delivered my 2nd. She was so good. The docs are so sensitive and mindful of your conditions whatever they may be. I love them.

Dr. Fariha DiPasquale is through Northwestern/Prentice and she is AWESOME - everything that you appreciated in your former OB is true of her. She saw me through 3 pregnancies and delivered all three of our children. Her practice/group is Chicago Women's Health Group. ###-###-####. I cannot say enough good things about her!! And I really liked everyone in the practice - including the office staff - they are extremely helpful - GREAT on so many levels!

Hi C.,

I go to Women's Health Specialist in Park Ridge. I see doctor Dolling. Actually some of my family sees other doctors from there. My sister also sees Dr. Dolling. She is very nice and answers all and any questions. She is also very good in follow up, for example, I had a cyst on my ovary and she called me on a Sunday to inform me what it was etc. Sometimes the staff can have a little attitude, but recently I have been going more often with some more issues I have had, they have been friendlier. Hope this helps!

I love my OB, her name is Pam Goodwin. The practice is in Evanston. The number is ###-###-####. She got me through two high risk pregnancies, and is very kind and sympathetic. I am not sure if she is accepting new patients, but the other doctors in the practice have all been great too. At some point over the course of two pregnancies I have met them all. Good luck and congratulations!

Midwives Lesnick and Koconis share and office with my OB, Anthony Kosinski. I think he's brilliant. Very low-key, very kind and patient, and an excellent diagnostician and surgeon. I think you can't really go wrong with anyone at that office, though, from what I hear of the other doctors. ###-###-####.
